Wow! What a turnout last night - thank you to EVERYONE who came along to auditions! It was wonderful to see some new faces as well.

Friendly reminder there's ANOTHER night of auditions tonight! 7.30pm at St. Mark's Church Hall.

Auditions for The Unfortunates by Aoise Stratford are this Wednesday & Thursday night at 7.30pm, held at St. Mark’s Church Hall in Buderim.

Directed by Peta Beattie & Lauren Willett.

Scripts & audition forms will be provided. Rehearsals Wednesday & Thursday nights, same place and time.

We're also on the lookout for interested performers (dancers & musicians) interested in getting involved as pre- and post-show entertainment! ✨

Peta Beattie and Lauren Willett are teaming up to direct Staged’s fifth production - The Unfortunates by Aoise Stratford.

"Mary Jane Kelly has a problem. She’s a pound forty behind in her rent, her window is broken, she has lost her key, and her boyfriend just moved out. And it’s 1888—not a good time to be poor and “unfortunate” on the streets of London.

Mary only has two ways to secure her own front door. One of them is prostitution. The other is selling something she shouldn’t have in the first place, something she’ll have to betray her murdered best friend and herself to give up. And somewhere out there in the foggy shadows, one of the world’s most notorious criminals is at work."

Auditions are held 27th & 28th May 2026 7.30pm at St. Mark’s Church Hall, Buderim.

Rehearsals will be Wednesday & Thursday nights 7.30pm from 4th June.

Shows are August 28 & 29 and September 4 & 5!

This is an OPEN AUDITION for a play that needs a BIG cast (6-10 actors), please feel free to come along, bring a friend, at the end of the day, it’s all about having some fun and uplifting the theatre community on the coast.

The Unfortunates isn’t just a stage play. With this production we’re hoping to create an immersive experience for the audience so we’re also on the lookout for musicians, dancers, or those interested in working production and helping out backstage.

Not sure what to do with mum this Mother's Day? Coolum Theatre Players and Staged are teaming up for a special Mother's Day session of LOVE LETTERS.

If you missed this sweet yet heart-wrenching play in April, don't fret! Lisa Blair & Sean McDermott are performing at the Coolum Civic Centre May 10th, 2pm for a special matinee performance of A.R Gurney's play.

We popped up to Hervey Bay to catch Z Pac Theatre production of Mosquitoes… and honestly, we’re still recovering (in the best way).

What a show. The tech was next-level and pulled us straight into the world of the play - no escape, no complaints. And the performances? So natural and emotionally grounded it felt less like “watching theatre” and more like being quietly let into something real.

Huge congratulations to the entire cast and crew on such a polished, immersive production. From all of us at Staged, we were seriously impressed... this is easily one of the best productions we’ve seen this year.

And a special shoutout to Michelle England, who somehow managed to be both Assistant Director and on stage (because apparently one job just isn’t enough). Incredible work.

Brilliant all round 👏
