One of the most colourful pieces yet! This commonly found Australian species, the Rainbow Lorikeet, has got to be a favourite of mine. These parrots are found mainly in coastal parts of northern and eastern Australia flying in fast speed and very loud flocks. ‘Samson’
This piece is one of my favourites and was created over two years ago for my Mum. I used to work closely with Samson in volunteer work and captured the reference photo for this painting myself.
‘Samson’ is what essentially kick started my series of paintings and my love for watercolour. It is definitely a favourite by many and it’s available as a print in either A5, A4 or A3, so message me if you’re interested ☺️

Hi guys,
My name is Karby and I’m the artist behind K. Hues Watercolour. I’ve had an Instagram page (go give it a follow .hueswatercolour) for a couple of years and thought it was time for a page too.

A bit about me -

I have a passion for Australian wildlife with a particular focus on birds. I love to paint these especially, but I also love creating one off pieces of your pets for your home.
I’ve only been painting with watercolour for about 2 years now but have loved art since high school.
I work with racehorses and wish to per-sue my career working with animals of any kind and painting them makes me feel closer to achieving these goals!

I love painting with watercolour and layering hues of colour to create the artworks showcased on this page. You will sometimes see the odd mixed media or me trying something a little different so stay tuned.
