Note: oops I mispronounced scheepjes 🫣 even though I saw their video and know how to pronounce it...love my brain 🤭😮‍💨

I know, I know... I'm hanging out for some finished handmade items to post too 😜 but this is where I am right now... housework/unpacking/organising u til lunch and then afternoon and evening to craft. I k ow I am going to need a couple of curtain drops for my sliding door for the afternoon sun that comes blaring through as in summer that will not be as nice. Ok... off to unpack my craft book collection now. Thanks for checking in!

Teddy bears on the way for an order 🥰

My days are split between sorting the house, getting back into baking/cooking (because I have always preferred home made snacks even when I worked full time, Sunday's was bake day for the week's lunches) and getting back into making after a month off while moving. For the past few years I have found my motivation lacking in the kitchen... I used to make pasta from scratch, sourdough with my own starter, dehydrate and preserve gluts from the vege patch or fruit trees, ferment, the list goes on. Fibre crafts have taken over from that since my clots episode in 2020 but now I think I'll try to find a balance as my youngest (9 yrs old) deserves to know what goes into her food just like my 19 year old did when she was young. Yep, it may have been lacking in trendiness to have lunch box full of home made back then, but it was, and still is usually better than the "food" that comes in packets. Even better is that Charlie enjoys cooking and makes for great company in the kitchen.

Yes... it takes me a long time to unpack from a move. We have most rooms set up but still require those odds and ends bits and pieces to find their homes which leave the place looking unpacked and untidy. We had to get the black shelves inside before they rusted up which is why I'm working on the craft room before the house is completely finished, plus I have some crochet teddy bears in knitted outfits to make for a customer before Christmas, which I made a start on yesterday.

I can't emphasise enough how much this house feels like me, and how every day my apprehension about moving away from Pete's weekly physio visits or monthly doctors appointments is fading... he still goes, it just takes longer to get there but this place is very worth the extra travel time.

She is beautiful. The precision workmanship that went into making her has me in awe. I believe if I hadn't gone into the fibre arts I would have done pottery or woodwork (🤣 I can see my partner rolling his eyes at just the thought of the "toys" I would need for those crafts).
I cant wait to gwt this house sorted (and then my craft room) so I can get these hands back to work!

I put an order in, in January this year, for my very first brand new wheel and it arrived during our first week of moving (August). I have given myself a Sunday arvo off from unpacking the house and I'm opening my very own Ashford Elizabeth 30 Limited edition!! Eek!

When its almost midnight and your brain won't let you sleep what else do you do but have some fun with your pencils and water? One day I'll actually work consistently on improving my very basic drawing skills but for now it is good for my brain to just use some beautiful colours.

Hmmm.... guess I should have counted my stitches a little more regularly (instead of not at all)... 11 stitches shy of the actual 523 stitches there are meant to be on my needles. Luckily this is just for me as I'm working on improving my wearable creations. I usually make them too big or too small and for knitting I am learning to do a swatch to remedy the sizing issues! I'm hoping to reach a stage where I can knit well fitting cardigans or jumpers that suit my body and style. Now I also know to do a stitch count more regularly!
Note: all the stitch markers mark repeats in the pattern and then I have different markers marking every 100 stitches which I got to by marking every 20... yep that takes dedication 🤣... not to just be as dedicated from the get go...lesson learnt

Which knitting style do you prefer? English, Continental or something else? I find my stitches get even tighter with Continental so I practice on pieces I'm making for myself until I get better. I do like that it is less movement in my arms so better for cramped spaces like public transport etc.
