ACT1 Theatre

ACT1 Theatre Founded in 1965 ACT1 Theatre inc is a small community theatre group for all ages based in the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Queensland.

There is ample car parking for all shows and Strathpine Railway Station is a mere 100metres away. Originally established in 1965 as Aspley Little Theatre playing at the Methodist church hall, eventually moving in 1984 to Albany Creek. When they vacated, Life member Glenys Ferguson suggested the name ACT1 which was incorporated using the name from the original Aspley Little Theatre and Aspley Commu

nity Theatre, the organisation eventually incorporated as ACT1 Theatre in July 1985 and moved into the Old Shire Hall at Strathpine, its current location which is conveniently located just a short walk from Strathpine Railway station on the Caboolture Line, approx 22.4kms north of Brisbane CBD. Zone 5 of the translink public transport system. It now provides the opportunity for community members to be involved with live theatre for all ages. There is free parking in Hall St, and a car park at the rear of the theatre. There is also wheelchair access to the theatre. The theatre is fully air-conditioned with a raised seating arrangement for 95 guests. There is one dressing room, fully equipped with air conditioning, mirrors, lighting, hanging space for approx. 10 people. There is a licensed bar area, reception and box office with easy access. We produce approx. 6-8 live productions a year, in the genre of rib tickling comedy farce, theatre restaurant, drama and thrillers.

Hi everybody, we sent out an email to members a week or so ago regarding a members bowls night. The details are follows. We do need to confirm booking numbers by tomorrow night so let us know if you’re coming along.

Event details

What: Lawn Bowls Social Night (members-only, a plus 1 can be included)

Where: Pine Rivers Bowls Club
Corner of Francis Road & Sparkes Road, Bray Park

When: Saturday 30 May 2026
Bowling starts: 5:30pm (please arrive a little earlier so we can get organised and start on time)

What to bring / wear

To protect the bowling green, please wear flat-heeled shoes.
Socks or bare feet are also fine — just no high heels, please.

Cost & payment

$5 per player (subsidised by ACT 1 Theatre)
Pay on the night: Cash or EFTPOS
Not playing? No problem — spectators are welcome to come along and watch.

New to bowls? Perfect.

All equipment and training are supplied — no experience needed. Most of us were beginners last year and we had a ball.

Dinner afterwards

After bowling, stay on for dinner together and enjoy the atmosphere of the club.
