SEQS 2026 is officially wrapped, marking our first tournament of the year.
After three full-on days and 21 games, our graded team delivered an outstanding performance, taking out first place with a commanding 20-point lead over second. The graded team also collected multiple individual and team awards, further highlighting the depth of talent and consistency across the squad. Huge appreciation goes to Linda Cochrane, our team manager, whose behind-the-scenes work balancing line-ups and matchups against the opposition was no easy task. Your planning and leadership played a huge role in the win. Go Mighty Ducks!
The scratch team finished in 3rd place after navigating some challenging circumstances. Chloe unfortunately suffered an injury after an unexpected encounter with a pothole late at night, which impacted the team on the final day. With Chloe being the only female bowler and one required on the lanes at all times, the team was forced to take a bye for the final seven games. Despite this setback, the boys stepped up and delivered some impressive performances, with Mitchell averaging 213 across 18 games, Liam averaging 215 over 17 games, Jay averaging 204 across 13 games, and Jakson averaging 201 over 15 games. A huge thank you to Lisa Wardrop for managing the chaos and the “children” organised and on track throughout the tournament — your patience and effort were greatly appreciated.
Combined, Strathpine secured 2nd place overall, finishing just 5.5 points behind the Shield winners, Caboolture Snakes — an incredibly close result.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who travelled to compete and support the teams throughout the tournament. Your commitment, time, and energy made a real difference. A special thank you to the parents and families who supported from the sidelines and kept spirits high over long days — your support is invaluable.
Lastly, a big shout-out to those who organised team shirts at the eleventh hour. Our official shirts have now landed in Australia, and once we receive them, they’ll be sent out to everyone so please keep an eye out in your messages!
… Until next event🐶💙
