Stag - Strathmore Theatrical Arts Group Community theatre serving the needs of NorthWest Melbourne Welcome to STAG

No drama group existed in the local Strathmore area.

That is until 1954 when Strathmore Theatrical Arts Group Inc affectionately known as STAG was formed. The inaugural first meeting of twelve members was held in the home of Mary and Ron Little of Bruce St. The site of its initial productions (And This Was Odd, Poison Pen and Here We Come Gathering) was at the St. John’s Presbyterian Church Hall in Essendon, until the permanent purpose-built facilit

y was organised through the Strathmore Community Association. STAG’s aim – then as it is now – is to bring together people of similar interests and to provide a true community theatre where members can share their talents and abilities in diverse fields of performance. Over the years we have continued to present quality productions for the enjoyment of all and will continue to do so for many years to come.

It’s week 2! 🥳

“The cast rose beautifully to meet my expectations, taking complicated emotional notes, physical restraints (I’ve personally never even considered how hard it must be to act with crutches AND bandages on both hands) and specific accents into their strides”

“The detail in the visuals, from the wall paper to the cereal to the costumes all came together to create a not quite harmonious setting, perfectly encapsulating the strange, overcommercialised, technicolour vibe of the millennium”
