As of this week, the cast and crew of The Ship That Never Was are taking a well-deserved break, heading off on holiday and getting some maintenance done.

The set is packed up and the space is looking a little bare… but not for long.

We’ll be reopening on Tuesday 1st September!

Thank you to everyone who has supported us this season - the cast and crew, our wonderful local community, the audience and the local businesses. We couldn’t keep being Australia’s longest running play without you!

See you in September!

A flock of Orange Bellied Parrots was released into Macquarie Harbour today to raise money for ‘Speak Up, Stay Chatty’ at the Winter Solstice Festival in Strahan!
Some of the staff from The Round Earth Company had a fun day taking part in the solstice plunge.

'The Ship That Never Was' is continuing to perform through June and most of July 2026.

Performances will only go ahead if we get enough bookings (15+ people).

Without enough bookings or if the weather is too bad to perform, performances will be cancelled by 4pm on the day.

Confirmed performance dates this week:
Thursday 11th June
Sunday 14th June

Possible performances:
Tuesday 9th June
Wednesday 10th June
Saturday 13th June

No performances:
Monday 8th & Friday 12th June

The Ship That Never Was has been voted in the top 10% of Traveller’s Choice reviews worldwide for 2026!

Not only a great story and a fun performance, which has been running for over 32 years,  but also a fantastic team of actors who run the show and entertain the visitors seven days a week for most of the year.

On Monday 5th January 2026, Australia’s longest running play, The Ship That Never Was, celebrated its 32nd birthday with a full house (what a fun crowd!), a great cast and an uproarious time! We even had a cake.

We’ll never outperform ‘The Mousetrap’ in London but we are proud of keeping Richard Davey’s legacy going with over 8600 performances.

If you’ve never seen the show, put it on your bucket list for 2026. 😊
