The Folk Pancake Festival Maslenitsa SA 2026 was organised and delivered by Prima Nota , with the Russian-Speaking Women’s Association in South Australia (RSWASA) serving as a key Community Engagement Partner for the event.

Through its established networks within the Russian-speaking community, RSWASA supported community outreach, promotion, and volunteer participation, helping extend the festival’s reach and encouraging broader participation in the celebration of Maslenitsa and Russian cultural traditions.

RSWASA’S involvement included:

• Promotion of the festival through community networks and social media
• Community outreach and distribution of festival information
• Support in coordinating the preparation of traditional Maslenitsa pancakes (blini)
• Donation of traditional kokoshnik headpieces used during the festival
• Donation of matryoshka-themed tote bags
• Volunteer assistance in the kitchen area during the event

A significant contribution to these activities was provided by Sonia Michailov, who supported the initiative both through her connection with RSWASA and through her role as Treasurer and Managing Committee member of Prima Nota.

Through this collaboration, RSWASA contributed to strengthening community engagement and supporting the celebration of Russian cultural heritage within the multicultural landscape of South Australia.

🎉 Folk Pancake Festival Maslenitsa SA 2026 – Community Impact

On 15 February, we welcomed approximately 1,500 attendees to Linde Reserve for South Australia’s largest Slavic pancake celebration.

This year’s festival brought together:

• 15 independent vendors
• 7 local creatives
• 10 multicultural performance groups
• Community partners including Diabetes SA
• 25 dedicated volunteers

Beyond the park, the celebration reached even further:

• 2,500 Facebook event responses
• 97,231 Facebook views
• 83% of engagement from new audiences

Maslenitsa SA 2026 was delivered through 4,320 volunteer hours and strong community collaboration.

Kaláris Hungarian Dance Group of SA Inc. lit up the Folk Pancake Festival Maslenitsa SA 2026 stage with their energy, costumes, and incredible choreography. The South Danube and Kalotaszeg dances were a highlight of the afternoon!

Maslenitsa is where culture meets community.

As an initiative proudly delivered by Prima Nota Inc., the Folk Pancake Festival Maslenitsa SA 2026 was honoured to welcome Diabetes SA to this year’s celebration.

Their presence added meaningful depth to the day- from AUSDRISK assessments to practical health resources and conversations that empower families to make informed choices.

Festivals are more than performances and traditions. When led with intention, they become platforms for education, wellbeing, and genuine community impact.
