Puttin’ on the Ritz!

The Ritz Performing Arts Centre has been operating since 1985 and in Stanthorpe since 2006.

It is our aim to bring you the best available teachers to provide the finest tuition for your child. Ritz Director, Rhonda Binnie, extended Ritz classes to Stanthorpe due to her passion for providing opportunities to learn dance and other performance arts, and she continues to show her commitment and serve our Stanthorpe students by travelling from Brisbane every week to deliver tap, ballet and Teacher Training courses in all forms of dance, along with Carleon Russell, who teaches musical theatre, singing, and speech and drama. The Ritz Stanthorpe proudly also employs fully qualified and very experienced local teachers, and in 2019 we were very excited to welcome back one of our original Stanthorpe students, this time as a teacher! Jade McInnerney teaches our Ready Set Dance classes for 2-5 year olds, along with jazz to our junior students. She is joined by other exceptionally qualified local teachers - Megan Lynch teaching ballet and contemporary, Xanthe Mastrogiannis teaching jazz, and Stacey Faux teaching acrobatics. Our Stanthorpe Student Teachers are Faithe Repo and Taylah Organ who are being trained at The Ritz and are currently studying to gain their Teachers Certificates or Teachers Diplomas with the C.S.T.D. & T.C.L. (https://www.ritzdance.com/faculty) We are also thrilled to bring regular professional dancers and Teachers to our Stanthorpe studio to give our regional students the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the business.

Our Stanthorpe school is proud to have had students go on to become professional entertainers in the Ballet and Musical Theatre areas of the entertainment industry in Australia. As well, we have had several students go on to tertiary studies in Performing Arts in Qld and Interstate. We are proud that they all keep in touch to give our current students excellent role models.

Stanthorpe born Matthew Manahan is about to star in the brand new Australian production of the musical “Hair”, and Sophie Maddock is currently employed with the Melbourne City Ballet company, and recently toured nationally with the Melbourne City Ballet’s production of “Alice in Wonderland”. Sarah Green qualified with jazz and tap CSTD Teacher’s Certificates in Stanthorpe, and now teaches in our Brisbane studio while she is in her final year of Dance at University at QUT.
