hnny visited regularly, for some two decades – and not to play music! Johnny first visited Stanthorpe in the early 1980s, and visited regularly thereafter for two decades, the latter decade with wife June Carter, herself a renowned singer with the famous Carter Family. He came to visit an old friend from America, who had moved to Australia for family reasons. Johnny took an instant liking to our little town and its surrounding districts of apple and stone fruit orchards, vineyards, and a wide and empty country side where he enjoyed riding, hunting and overall…the anonymity. So Stanthorpe can legitimately lay claim to be the only place in the world, outside America, which can call itself ‘Johnny Cash Country’. And the Johnny Cash Country Music Festival celebrates this unique piece of music history.

Just wanted to say a HUGE Thankyou to all those wonderful people who attended the Johnny Cash Man in Black Party last Saturday Eve at the International Club here in Stanthorpe.

We all had a blast presenting BILLY GUY & the TUXEDO THREE with our guest artist Justine Johnson joining in for the action and we thank the musicians for all the hard work to make the show so much fun.

Though we especially wanted to say thanks to all those faithful fans and friends who attended and the wonderful volunteer workers that all played a massive part to make our night a huge success.
