The Crinet Experiment 💀🧵

​Why discard the hair from your brush when you can turn it into something sturdy and strange? Waste nothing.

​I’ve been experimenting with Crinet.
Crinet is an ancient artisan term for cordage, yarn, or fabric made from hair. It was once used for everything from fishing lines to tailoring, but I’m bringing it back as a relic craft.

​I scavenged some "sheddings" from my brush, rolled them into a core, and wrapped it tight with light pink cotton thread using nothing but my fingers.

​The result is a 6-inch length of relic cord. It’s a bit gritty and imperfect, but it’s incredibly strong. It’s the ultimate way to take something meant for the bin and turn it into a structural piece of art.

​Why buy synthetic junk when you can harvest grey gold from the void? The fire is dead, but its remains are still working for me.

​I made my own silica gel desiccant packets. I sieve the ash until it’s like fine bone dust, then pack it into custom sachets made from recycled junk mail.

It’s the perfect reuse—taking corporate trash and turning it into a sentinel that pulls the life out of the moisture. It keeps my stashed plant seeds bone-dry until they’re ready to rise from the dirt.

​And the reason for the wooden spoon? Static. No metallic interference allowed in this ritual. 🤘🖤

​Why buy a plastic imitation when you can weave a relic from the earth? I’ve resurrected these fallen needles into a small, potent dreamcatcher—a tiny sentinel for the bedroom.

​The Ingredients: Just the basics—boiled pine needles, cotton thread, and found feathers. No synthetic junk, just the raw materials of the woods bound together by hand.

​The Ritual: Once the needles have given up their flexibility in the boil, the leftover water becomes your secret weapon. Don't waste a drop of that forest essence—pour it into your mop bucket. It’ll strip the filth from your floors and leave your sanctuary smelling like a midnight hike through the pines.

​The Verdict: Catch the bad dreams in the web, then purge the day's grime from the floorboards. It’s a full-house exorcism in one pot of water.

​The Slimy Deterrent: Create a barrier of bone-dry ash to ward off the unwanted. It’s a gritty, natural curse for ants, slugs, and snails—turning their path into a desiccated wasteland and keeping your plants safe from the crawl.

​The Seed Sarcophagus: Wood ash is the ultimate "Goth" silica gel. Sieve those remains and pack them into sachets to act as a DIY desiccant. It’ll suck the life out of any moisture, keeping your stashed seeds in a state of perfect, dry preservation until they’re ready to rise again.

🍓 Slow Cooker Magic! 🍓

​I made my very first batch of Mulberry Jam! I did it all in the slow cooker and it turned out amazing.

​There is nothing better than turning fresh fruit into something delicious.

🔥 Wood ash is basically magic! 🔥

​Don't throw out your fireplace ash! It is amazing for keeping things dry.

​I’ve been putting dry ash into envelopes made from old Aldi catalogues—just like those little "do not eat" packets you find in bags.

It soaks up all the dampness so everything stays fresh and perfect.

​It’s a great way to use what you have! 🪵✨
