For all our visitors that had the pleasure to meet our Border Collie Charlie ,its with a heavy heart that under recommendation from our veterinary service, she closed her eyes for one last time today 4th Aughst 2021.😪
She had a great 14 years and was patted and photographed by thousands their would be pictures of Charlie in all corners of the world.It was such an honour to have her walk beside us for the past 14 years and we will surely miss her beatiful nature and daily companionship .

Thanks to Smithton veterinary service for giving Charlie a trim and a bath.
All clean and healthy ,although a tad cold tonight and needing to be rugged up a little .❤

Even though we haven't found the right property to re establish our park,we are still adding to our growing number of animals. We were lucky enough to get hold of a complete herd of 10 Miniature Galloway cattle (9 female, 1 bull)
From a lovely family in New Mexico NSW, at 6am this morning they were loaded on to a Page transport truck for the first leg of a 1725km journey to Tasmania.

😪😪Closed indefinitely. 😪😪

2020 has had many challenges here at the Tarkine Animal Park.

Firstly due to the pandemic we closed our gates to keep the public safe ,then once restrictions eased and we were getting close to opening again local Council threatened us with a letter of compliance, if we opened to the public again with out completing and being signed off on their regulations. (We looked into this and had a meeting at our kitchen table with council before buying one animal and were told from a council point of view we were right to go, funny how thing change) . I must point out the Mayor and General manager were most helpful in getting us compliant again.

So not happy!! but we had no choice to stay closed until we had spent a considerable amount of time and money on redtape to finally get a letter of compliance on December 18.
However the day before, our overseas Landlords decided to sell all their Australian assets and found a loophole in our contract not to continue our further three year term and has put the property on the market.

Therefore we are moving our animals to another property until such time that we can purchase/find a suitable property and re-establish our park and take it to the next level.

Hi Guys we are really sorry but we are still arguing with council red tape at the moment 🤬🤬, so won't be opening this long weekend, however we are getting very close to having our issues sorted and hoping a couple of weeks we will be back .
