When you need more I/O for mixing and Atmos. 128 ins and outs should do it. While I’m just using this system for mixing, it’s worth noting that Avid really is the leader in systems for recording. The 0 latency tracking without having to go into some other software to setup monitor is how it should be. A digital version of the original tape based recording studio :)

Finally finished building my headphone and sconce power distribution boxes for ensemble recording. Just need to label them. Inspired by the boxes my orchestral recording mentor Robin Gray built back in the day. Some upgrades and other features added, too. Fed from a power amp, and daisy chain-able.

Making things for the studio in between working on a few records. I’ve loved soldering since I was 10. Just not that one time I burned off my fingerprints. FYI, never pick the soldering iron up by the wrong end… if it’s behind you, turn around first. (Lesson learned at 12).
