FIAPF — the International Federation of Film Producers Associations — has just unveiled its biggest shake-up to festival accreditation in almost 20 years, officially naming 17 major events as A-list festivals. Festivals including Busan, Annecy, Tokyo, Cairo and Shanghai are now officially joining the likes of Cannes, Berlin and Venice in the top tier.

The reform is all about recognising festivals with genuine international reach and impact — and that's something close to our heart here at APSA.

The Asia Pacific Screen Awards competition is proudly endorsed by FIAPF, recognising our commitment to championing the remarkable cinema of the Asia Pacific region — 78 countries, one extraordinary competition.
