The sky blushes with the soft hues of a setting sun. And so do my cheeks to know this one was snapped up during the Ekka. 🥰

It was a lot of fun painting Pastel Skies Pink using palette knives and spoons to apply acrylic paint and gloss texture paste on the canvas. 👩🏻‍🎨

Fine art reproductions in various sizes are available on the website. See link in bio.

❣️Original sold.

What a surprise to see the SOLD stamp and a 'Commended award' under my Maldives-inspired painting 'It's the Little Things' at the Ekka this week! I'm not usually one for crowds, but each year I just need to get myself a ticket to the Ekka to admire all the quilts, textiles arts and paintings on display by so many talented artists! Here are a few of my favourites this year, including the First Prize quilt of cute little fairy wrens by Bernadine Hine.

Excited to share that my painting Soul Soaring (76x56cm) is now showing at Petrie Terrace Gallery, Brisbane, as part of the RQAS Members Annual Exhibition until June 14.

This scaly‑breasted lorikeet rising above blooming grevillea captures my own longing to fly and the sense of uplift I feel in Australian nature. The movement, colour and early‑morning light make this moment feel vividly alive.

[Original SOLD ❣️]

The quiet rhythm of turquoise waters with light drifting, currents folding, and colour shifting reflects my own search for stillness within movement, and the quiet calm that water brings.

'Turquoise Dreams' comes from memories of swimming in Fiji and the Maldives - those luminous blues, the hush of water, the way time slows when you’re fully immersed.

Original sold. However, fine art reproductions are available in various sizes here:

This one is for the dreamers who wish to be free from the city's hum, and who love the warm tones of an orange outback sunrise to fill their living space.

“First Song of Sunrise” is inspired by my restorative solitary drive to Winton from Brisbane in 2024, ironically to deliver art to the Outback Regional Gallery that year.

With my camera on the seat next to me, I headed out early from Morven and before me lay this vast orange landscape veiled in morning fog. The early sun cast its golden warmth across dry grasses and barely-there trees, while mist lingered like breath held between sleep and waking. Fence posts marked human presence, but they did not intrude; instead, they echoed the rhythm of the road. I paused to soak in the moment. Then I spotted the lone bird singing the first song of sunrise.

I am so excited to be making the journey to Winton again this year to deliver my painting to the 2026 John Villiers Outback Art Prize at Waltzing Matilda Centre. Who knows what new inspiration the drive will bring this time.

Exhibition is from Saturday 14th March until Sunday 10th May. Purchase enquiries to Outback Regional Gallery on (07) 4657 2625 or [email protected]

Behana Gorge Waterfall is a breathtaking cascade nestled in north Queensland’s Wooroonooran National Park. While travelling through this wet tropics world heritage area with the family a few years ago I was mesmerised by the network of stunning waterfalls. So when my friend Bec Ashton shared photos of her adventures there, she generously allowed me to reference one for a painting.

The rush of water surging over the rugged rocks surrounded by the tranquility of the surrounding greenery reminded me that moments of upheaval are often the beginning of transformation. It was a reminder from nature that growth often emerges from turbulence.
🌿
So thank you Bec!
