Stickwork Melbourne Patrick Dougherty - Stickwork The Australian Premiere of Stickwork by multi-award winning artist Patrick Dougherty.

As part of Fed Square’s 10th Birthday Celebrations, Fed Square and Melbourne company Creative Production Services have commissioned this new work by Dougherty, whose enormous, expressive sculptures are woven from vast quantities of willow tree saplings and sticks. Over the course of three weeks, Patrick Dougherty will bend and weave more than five tonnes of willow into an incredible sculpture using just gloves and a pair of secateurs. Sponsored by Melbourne Water who have also supplied raw materials cleared from key water catchment areas. Raw materials will also be supplied by Cricket Willow – a fifth generation family business in Shepherds Flat that has been making cricket bats for more than 100 years.
