****closed**** Holes & Corners was an idea borne a few years ago over a thousand coffees.

Holes & Corners is a sleek, modern new recording studio situated in the heart of Melbourne's Southbank. Possessing high quality gear and technical know-how, Holes & Corners has a particular focus and investment in signal path and front-end recording processes. The studio was built, and is run by, engineer / producer Sam Johnson and musician Adrian Lombardi, both of whom have ample year's experienc

e in the music industries. Following extensive service as a front of house engineer and stage tech, Sam has focused the past decade of his working life on studio work and has produced records for acts such as The Bennies, A Death in the Family, The Smith Street Band and Toy Boats. Adrian has 20 years of performing under his belt, having played an integral part in seminal alternative Melbourne acts One Inch Punch/Mid Youth Crisis, and later Blueline Medic. More recently, he served as a live touring guitarist for The Living End, and currently provides second guitar and pedal-steel duties for ex-Hobartian Lincoln Le Fevre. Now fully realised, it is a top class facility in the heart of Australia's music capital.

Very proud to see Outright HC nominated for the Australian Music Prize. Honestly I feel if we can get albums like this (screaming real truth) nominated for major industry inner circle awards, we've already won.

"From thrash metal to melodic punk, Outright’s second full-length is dynamically exhilarating, with this outstanding Melbourne hardcore outfit even entering stoner-rock territory" - so says an AMP judge (Beat Mag, July 18) - referring to the second album from Outright - titled 'Keep You Warm'.

In a couple of months this album could be announced within our Shortlist - the 9 best albums of 2022 vying for the $30,000 prize courtesy of sound merch !

All good things....

A combination of factors means that Holes & Corners will unfortunately be drawing to a close over the next few weeks.

What a wild ride, with unexpected twists and turns that only the music industry can provide - through having an Australian #1 release to rebuilding after a major flood, from hosting some of our favourite artists to the endurance of covid lockdowns.

We leave with proud memories of a bunch of amazing bands, engineers and producers over nearly a decade, and most importantly the music they created here.
