Founded in February 1965 by the late Jack Sturgeon, and Lynette Millard, now Lynette Denny, Mackay Musical Comedy Players Inc. is a not for profit community amateur theatre company, with a long history of entertaining Mackay audiences with quality productions of stage musi

cals. accepts associate members (under 18 years) and ordinary members (18 years and over) with an interest in live theatre. Performers, actors, singers, dancers, musicians, directors, musical directors, choreographers, stage managers, set designers, set constructors, props designers, costumieres of all abilities, painters, publicity, hair and make-up, backstage crew. Meet two of the young stars bringing The Secret Garden to life! 🌿✨

Adele Shepherd stars as the curious and determined Mary Lennox, while Alex Beale plays her hidden-away cousin Colin Craven. Their journey together is at the heart of this beautiful story of friendship, discovery and healing.

Adele Shepherd brings Mary Lennox to life in The Secret Garden, a young girl whose curiosity leads her to uncover the secrets hidden within Misselthwaite Manor.

Along the way, she forms a special friendship with Dickon, played by Henry Miller, whose love of nature and gentle spirit help Mary discover the life still waiting inside the locked garden.

Together, Mary and Dickon help bring hope, friendship and new beginnings back to a place that has been lost in grief for far too long.

Archibald Craven (Joshua Duncan), the grieving master of Misselthwaite Manor; his brother Neville Craven (Ken Brown), whose presence adds tension and mystery to the household; and Lily Craven (Trinity March-Hoolihan), Archibald’s beloved late wife whose memory continues to linger throughout the story. Their love, loss and family secrets help shape this beautiful tale of grief, hope and healing.

🌿 MEET MORE OF OUR LEAD CAST 🌿

Three very different characters help bring the world of Misselthwaite Manor to life in The Secret Garden.

Billy Anderson plays Albert Lennox, Mary’s father, whose story forms part of the memories and ghosts that continue to linger around the manor.

Rozlyn Goodwin is Mrs Medlock, the stern and proper housekeeper charged with keeping order at Misselthwaite and keeping Mary out of places she shouldn’t be!

Greg Webb takes on the role of Ben Weatherstaff, the gruff old gardener who knows the grounds, and the secrets of the hidden garden, better than almost anyone.

Together, they’re part of the colourful collection of characters who make The Secret Garden such a beautiful story of love, loss, mystery and new beginnings. 🌿✨

🌿 MARY, COLIN & THE CHILDREN OF THE SECRET GARDEN 🌿

At the heart of The Secret Garden are Mary Lennox and her cousin Colin — two children whose lives have been shaped by loneliness, loss and the secrets hidden within Misselthwaite Manor.

As Mary discovers the locked-away garden and draws Colin out of his isolated world, they begin to find friendship, hope and a new sense of life. Watching over their journey are the ghostly children connected to the manor’s past, their presence weaving memories, mystery and magic throughout this beautiful story.
