This month we had the privilege of having Chrystal from Grafton Shoppingworld as our esteemed judge for the "Song of the Month" competition. We are thrilled to announce Marc Daley was the recipient of the March award!

Marc will be awarded with $100 from Grafton Shoppingworld, a "Song of the Month" trophy thanks to Buckleys Music Group and 12-month membership to the Australian Songwriters Association, and a coveted spot in the end-of-year grand final for the ASA Clarence Valley "Song of the Year" Competition.

Hi! 👋

My name is Ryan Martin, I’ve just taken over the role of Regional Coordinator for the Australian Songwriting Association and am writing on here to let you know I’ve started a new page for Wax Lyrical.

The reason for the change is Facebook has decided “Wax Lyrical” is a term related to the sales of drugs which means anytime someone searches for our page, it triggers a warning and discourages people from continuing.

Jake, Terry + Chris have done an amazing job setting up Wax Lyrical and establishing a great following in the Clarence Valley, we hope we can maintain that in 2025 and continue to grow.

First Wednesday of each month at Roches Family Hotel, Grafton. Our Songwriter Showcase events provide a stage for original material written by musicians, lyricists and poets to be performed. All styles and genres are welcomed.

Last night was such a great night, I’m sorry if you missed it as it was truly special. The Talent on display I believe was some of the best in the Clarence Valley.
We thanked a lot of people last night for their help and support throughout the year to make Wax Lyrical the success it has been in 2024 but 1 was missed.
Mel Smith worked tirelessly behind the scene filling in wherever and whenever something was required to be done. Mel didn’t even need to be asked….she just knew and she did it. We are so thankful to Mel and everything she did to help Wax Lyrical.

What a songwriter, what a voice!
The last chapter of 2024 saw Charlie Davis take out the Song of the Month award for November with the soul tingling tune Jessica and earn his place in the Song of the Year event to be held Friday, December 6th - just 8 days away.
Keep an ear out for Charlie's interview and live performance of the song on FM103.1 in coming days.
Charlie is an active professional musician from the Coffs area. He performs across the north coast solo and in various ensembles.

As you can see we have some stellar talent in tonight’s line up! Tonight’s winner will receive a trophy, a cash prize of $50 and a spot on Damo from FM 103.1 Loving Life show!
