The Pl***oy of the Western World is coming to The Pivotonian. 🎭

A man walks into a pub claiming he's killed his father. Instead of being run out of town, he becomes the local hero. Darkly funny, full of secrets, and performed live on stage at the National Theatre by one of the best casts assembled this year.

Nicola Coughlan, Éanna Hardwicke, and Siobhán McSweeney in John Millington Synge's The Pl***oy of the Western.

SURFILMUSIC is the story of how Jack Johnson became Jack Johnson, told through rare archive footage, the people who were there, and the man himself. Laid back in the best possible way, and more fascinating than you’d expect.

Two screenings only at The Pivotonian. Thursday 18 June at 6pm and Sunday 21 June at 11am. Grab your seat via the link in bio. 🌊

“I made us a map of Australia. I googled important things in Australia, and then I collaged them all into this one image.”

The students of the Delhi College of Linguistics hit the road in this riotous new Aussie comedy HOW TO TALK AUSTRALIANS: THE MOVIE, from the team behind the hit web-series of the same name.

A one-off Q&A with the people behind the film, in the room after the credits roll. This one matters. 🎬

Ten years ago, Muzafar Ali and his wife Nagina escaped the Taliban in Afghanistan and found themselves stranded in Indonesia as refugees. When Australia stopped the boats, they did something anyway. They opened a school in two rooms. That school became the hub of a community, and eventually the most successful refugee-led initiative in the world.

We Are Not Powerless is the story of what happens when people refuse to give in. After the screening, join us for a live Q&A with those who lived it.

Thursday 12th June, 6:00pm at Pivot. Book via the link in bio. 🎟️

One of the best films of the year screens at The Pivotonian before anyone else gets to see it. 🎬

Sound of Falling won the Jury Prize at Cannes 2025 and became Germany's official Oscar submission. Four women. One farm. A century of secrets that refuse to stay buried. The kind of film that sits with you long after the lights come up.

Preview screening before Australian theatrical release.

A live virtual Q&A with the author of H Is for Hawk. One night, one conversation, and it won't come around again. 🪶

Helen MacDonald wrote a book on grief by writing about a bird. About what happens when you turn off your phone, fill the freezer with hawk food, and decide that the wildest thing you can think of is the only way through. It worked. The book changed people. Now we're sitting down with her after the credits roll.

A body pushed to its limits. A life lived at full volume, and the wreckage that comes with it. Kristen Stewart directs The Chronology of Water with the kind of honesty that’s hard to look away from.

R18+. This one doesn’t flinch.
