If you could plant a magic seed, what do you hope would grow?

This simple question sparked creativity and connection during QPAC’s Out of the Box festival and YFG Shopping Centres Pty Ltd.’s vibrant activations at Redbank Plaza, Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown and Strathpine Centre.

From colourful artworks to heartfelt wishes, the Tree of Hope brought families together and inspired conversations that lasted well beyond the activation.

It’s Children’s Week - a national celebration held every year across Australia to raise awareness and champion the rights of children, as set out in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 💚

At QPAC, we celebrate these fundamental rights: the right of every child to access culture, enjoy inclusion, and experience the joy of the performing arts. We know the arts spark imagination, create rich experiences, and leave lifelong memories.

This year, QPAC’s Out of the Box festival returned in its full glory, bringing happiness and inspiration to countless children and next year, we’re set to go even further, creating more access, more experiences, and more wonderful moments for our children!

We’re excited to bring our Out of the Box Tree of Hope Workshops to Sunnybank Hills Shoppingtown from Tuesday 23 to Saturday 27 September, running daily from 10am to 1pm.

These free, hands-on workshops are designed to spark creativity and connection for children and families and follow the success of recent activations at Strathpine Centre and Redbank Plaza.

This community engagement initiative is a wonderful example of our alignment with YFG Shopping Centres, whose support helps us bring the arts beyond our theatres and into the heart of local communities.

Thank you to YFG for your continued partnership and to Vethaak Media for capturing the joy and colour of these beautiful moments at Strathpine Centre earlier this year 🌳

We loved having all the sheep from Monkey Baa's production of Where is the Green Sheep? here at Out of the Box last week! 🐑

Today is the last day of QPAC’s Out of the Box festival in 2025 🎁 What an incredible week it was!

Thanks to everyone who attended, big and small. We hope you have made memories to last a lifetime – we certainly have!

It all starts tomorrow! We're getting ready to welcome a whole new generation of children to Out of the Box!

Join us for the Welcome Ceremony led by Gaja Kerry Charlton at 9.30am on the Melbourne Street Green and stay for all the fun to come.

There will be plenty of free water stations provided Urban Utilities, so don't forget to bring your water bottle and sun protection to take part in the free outdoor activities.
