A gallery worth knowing in the Fish Lane Arts Precinct 🌿⁠

PARKER Contemporary brings a sharp focus to printmaking, papermaking and artists’ books, with a program spanning emerging and established artists from Brisbane and beyond.⁠
⁠
Founded by Emily Parker in 2024, the gallery has already presented more than 20 exhibitions and participated in major art fairs including Sydney Contemporary and Aotearoa Art Fair.⁠

Head to 38 Hope Street to explore the latest exhibition, get closer to the process behind the work and discover a different side of contemporary art in Fish Lane.

Love, memory, food, art and a celebration that brings generations together 🏵⁠

From October 30 to November 3, OFRENDA 2026: Amor y Memoria comes to Fish Lane Arts Precinct, QPAC’s Melbourne Street Green and Merivale Studios for a vibrant celebration of Día de Muertos.⁠
⁠
Centred around the traditional ofrenda, an altar created to honour and welcome home the souls of loved ones who have passed, the program brings together visual art, storytelling, music, performance, workshops and traditional cuisine.⁠
⁠
Rooted in Mexican culture and contemporary artistic practice, OFRENDA is a space to remember, connect and celebrate.⁠

A little bit of Queensland has landed on the pylons 🌿⁠

The latest Fish Lane mural is a love letter to local flora, bringing bottlebrush, banksias, kangaroo paw, wattle and a few more unmistakably Aussie details into the lane thanks to Liveworm, Griffith University, and Queensland College of Art and Design (QCAD)!⁠

Because we think public art should be part of the everyday: something you stumble across on your way to dinner, stop to photograph, or notice differently every time you walk past.⁠

We’ve always been a little obsessed with art in unexpected places, like murals on the walls, sculptures tucked into the lane, things that make you stop mid-walk and go, wait… what is that?⁠
⁠
So when Brisbane Festival and Griffith University bring Social Sculptures to the lane for one night only, it feels very much us.⁠
⁠
From 5pm on October 3, wander, stop, stare, discuss and discover a whole new kind of art crawl, with bold sculpture, performance and spatial works taking over Fish Lane.⁠

Free, a little unexpected, and very much art out in the wild. We’ll see you there.

Tucked just off Fish Lane on Hope Street, this family-run Mexican spot has been doing things from scratch for more than seven years: hand-pressed tortillas, traditional techniques, big flavours and some seriously good margaritas.⁠
⁠
The menu focuses on just how good vegetables can be.⁠
⁠
Whether you're vegan, vegetarian or simply here for the tacos (we don't blame you), El Planta is well worth the five-minute wander from Fish Lane.
