MEET THE ARTIST – CHRIS FROM EKKO
We are delighted to introduce Chris from Ekko, a talented maker whose handcrafted jewellery and decorative pieces beautifully combine artistry, craftsmanship and individuality.
Working with sterling silver, recycled silver and fine silver, Chris creates timeless jewellery pieces full of texture, elegance and personality. Her vibrant enamel work brings delicate colour and detail to every design, making each piece truly one of a kind.
Alongside her jewellery collection, Chris also creates stunning functional art including glass beaded salad servers, cake servers, cheese knives and whimsical tea infusers — transforming everyday items into beautiful conversation pieces.
Every item is individually handmade with care, blending traditional craftsmanship with creative design to produce pieces that are both practical and beautiful.
We are so excited to have Chris and Ekko as part of our creative community at Tasman Artisan House.

Meet the Artist – Mavis Wilkins
We are incredibly proud to introduce one of our treasured local artists, Mavis Wilkins — a true local legend whose artwork has captured the beauty of Tasmania for many years.
Mavis’ work reflects a lifelong love of nature, from tranquil waterways and sweeping coastal scenes to delicate florals and soft botanical studies. Working in soft pastels, watercolour and photography, her pieces beautifully celebrate the landscapes, gardens and changing light of our island home.
A passionate gardener, former florist and long-time member of Tasmania’s artistic community, Mavis brings warmth, heart and experience to every artwork she creates. Her photography and paintings have been exhibited widely, with works finding homes both locally and internationally.
Many in our community will already know Mavis through her much-loved photo cards and her involvement in local arts groups over the years. Her creativity, kindness and dedication to the arts have made her a familiar and respected figure across the Southern Beaches region.
We feel honoured to showcase Mavis’ beautiful collection here at the gallery — works that invite you to slow down, appreciate the natural world and reconnect with the beauty that surrounds us every day.

At Tasman Artisan House, we love sharing the stories behind the beautiful creations in our gallery, and today we’re introducing the talented mother-and-daughter team behind JCees – Jo and Cheree.
What began as a simple search for the perfect purple flowerpot for a family birthday gift soon became a creative adventure. Discovering the art of hydrodipping sparked a passion that has grown into a stunning collection of handcrafted jewellery, home décor, resin art, gemstone pieces and unique giftware.
Every piece is the result of years of learning, experimenting and creating together. From vibrant resin jewellery and gemstone bracelets to beautifully finished home décor and one-of-a-kind accessories, JCees creations are full of colour, imagination and craftsmanship.

MEET THE MAKER - Eve from Sea Urchin Designs
Handcrafted on Tasmania’s beautiful coastline, Eve’s work is a celebration of island life, slow making and sustainable creativity.
Using traditional hand screen-printing techniques, Eve creates original designs inspired by Tasmania’s wild landscapes, native flora and coastal treasures — from playful Tassie Devils to striking Rock Lobsters and botanical prints.
Every piece is printed by hand using eco-friendly inks on natural linen and cotton fabrics, then carefully sewn using an antique industrial sewing machine in her beachside studio. The result is a collection filled with character, authenticity and timeless Tasmanian charm.
From cushions and tea towels to tote bags and homewares, Sea Urchin Designs brings a little piece of Tasmania into everyday life.
We’re so excited to welcome Eve and her beautifully handcrafted collection to Tasman Artisan House.

We're delighted to introduce Michelle Pears, a creative force in the Sorell community for more than 30 years.
Known to many as Mrs Bee from MakeBelieve Children's Entertainment, Michelle is also a singer, songwriter, actor, photographer, author, poet and passionate advocate for the arts. Her creativity and community spirit have helped shape the vibrant arts scene we enjoy today.
At Tasman Artisan House, Michelle showcases her beautiful photography, artwork and greeting cards inspired by the natural beauty of South East Tasmania. From native wildlife and bees to stunning local landscapes, her work captures the wonder of the world around us.
Michelle's personal motto says it all:

One of the joys of visiting Tasman Artisan House is discovering the passion and stories behind the talented makers who fill our space. Today we'd like to introduce Pia from Clementine Sunroom.
A passionate plant lover and collector, Pia specialises in propagating and nurturing beautiful indoor plants, with a particular love for Hoyas and Anthuriums. What began as a personal passion has grown into a thriving collection of healthy, locally grown plants that bring life, colour and joy into homes across Tasmania.
Each plant is carefully propagated, nurtured and grown with patience and attention, ensuring it is ready to thrive in its new home. Whether you're an experienced collector or just beginning your indoor plant journey, Pia's collection offers something special for every plant lover.
From striking foliage to rare and unusual varieties, Clementine Sunroom celebrates the beauty of nature and the simple pleasure that plants bring to our everyday lives.
