This is an example of what “step into the Spotlight when you feel ready” means.

At our showcase, every child performs with their group, but they’re also given the option to put their hand up for a solo or duet if that’s something they’d like to try.

There’s no audition, no expectation and definitely no pressure to be perfect.

For some kids, performing happily within the group is their big win. For others, they decide they’re ready to take that extra step and stand up at the microphone on their own.

And watching a child make that decision for themselves…and then seeing the pride on their face afterwards is pretty special. 💜🥹

When I started Spotlight, I wanted to create something where kids could perform, have fun and build confidence without the pressure of competition or comparison.

No winners. No auditions. No needing to be the “best”.
Just a place to sing, move, laugh, make friends and have a go exactly as they are.

Hearing that the confidence built at Glee Club is now showing up at school too… that’s the stuff that makes me think, yep, this is exactly why I started this. 🥹

A little look at what a Spotlight Glee Club Showcase is all about 🎤

The red carpet, the nerves, the big smiles, the singing, the dancing… and SO many proud moments.

For some of our kids, this was their very first time performing in front of an audience. For others, it was a chance to take another step outside their comfort zone.

Our showcases aren’t about being perfect…they’re about giving every child the chance to have a go, build confidence and experience that feeling of being in the Spotlight!

Still on a high from last night!! ✨

Our very first Spotlight Glee Club Showcase…and what a night it was!

Seeing these kids up there singing, dancing, supporting each other and absolutely giving it their all was something pretty special. 🥹 (and in front of 130 audience members!!)

But my favourite part wasn’t whether every lyric or move was perfect. It was seeing the confidence. The big smiles. The proud faces. The kids who surprised themselves. The friendships. And the courage it took for every single one of them to step up and have a go.

To our Season 1 Spotlight kids: you were AMAZING. I hope you’re all feeling incredibly proud of yourselves today!

And to our families, thank you for trusting me with your kids and for getting behind this little idea from the very beginning. What we’ve created together in just one season feels pretty special.

After an incredible first season, Spotlight Glee Club is back…and this time we’re adding a little Christmas magic! 🎄

Spotlight is for primary school-aged kids who love music, performing, being silly, making friends… or who might just need a safe, encouraging place to build their confidence and have a go.

No auditions. No pressure to be the loudest or the most confident in the room. We meet every child where they’re at and give them opportunities to step into the spotlight if and when they feel ready.

Season 2 includes:
⭐️An extended 9-week season
⭐️Our first Christmas season
⭐️Singing, movement, drama & performance skills
⭐️Confidence building & stage presence
⭐️Teamwork, friendships and LOTS of fun
⭐️A special end-of-season showcase

And because of the interest we’ve had, we’re growing to three groups this season; two Mondays + one Tuesday!

💜 Run by a local mum & teacher with 12+ years’ experience

Sometimes a message lands at exactly the right moment.

I’ve received some incredibly kind messages from Spotlight parents lately, but one this week really got me; thanking me for creating a space where their child feels safe enough to just try. 🥹

Because that’s it. That’s Spotlight Glee Club.

Not being the best singer. Not getting every move right. Not being the loudest or most confident person in the room.

It’s feeling comfortable enough to have a go. To have fun. To make friends. To try something new. And maybe, little by little, surprise yourself with what you can do!! I have seen these children thrive this Season and slowly gain for confidence along the way.

I’m so grateful to the families who have trusted me with their kids for our very first season.

And now… Season 2 enrolments open THIS WEEK! 🎄

With an incredible first season underway (which filled much faster than I ever expected!), I’m so excited to announce that Season 2 enrolments will be opening NEXT WEEK!

This will be our very first Spotlight Christmas Season, and it’s going to be something special.

Here’s what’s new:
✨An extended 9-week season
✨Every group will learn a special Christmas performance in addition to their normal group song
✨More opportunities to build confidence and stage presence
✨An additional class due to demand
✨A magical Christmas Showcase to celebrate every child’s growth

At Spotlight Glee Club, we’re about so much more than learning songs.

We’re about building confidence, creating friendships and giving children a safe place to shine, if and when they feel ready.
