Plot twist: I’ve always been an artist. I just also felt like I needed a “proper job” first — you know, the sensible kind with a desk and a dress code. So off I went and studied built environment, majoring in industrial design, then followed it up with building design. Very responsible. Very “I have my life together.” My inner artist was politely waiting in the wings the whole time.
Turns out those years weren’t a detour, they were basically espionage. I spent all that time learning why spaces make you feel a certain way — why one room feels calm and another feels like a waiting room at the dentist — and I didn’t even realise I was collecting intel for what I do now.
These days I bring all of that slightly overqualified brain power to painting. It’s not just “does this look good,” it’s “how is this going to feel on your wall at 7am on a Tuesday, six years from now.” Very glamorous, I know.
Because here’s the thing — decoration is easy. Filling a wall so it’s not blank is easy. What’s harder (and much more fun) is making something that actually shifts how a room feels to be in.
Not one design fits every home. Not one print suits every wall. So I’m not trying to make something that works for everyone — I’m making the piece that’s going to earn its spot on yours.
So go on, tell me — what’s the space you’re trying to bring to life? 🤍 your home? Your office? Your air bnb? They all matter
