Stanley turns 200, and you’re invited! 🎉
From 30 October to 2 November, the whole town is celebrating. There’s a parade, a family day with steam engines and food vans, a bush dance, heritage tours at Highfield, and a trip out on the Julie Burgess.
Book a few nights, bring the family, and be part of a big weekend in our little corner of Tasmania. Plenty of it is free.

Lunch, sorted. 🥪☕ Found a quiet street-side spot in Stanley to slow the afternoon right down - good food, good company, and Angel’s Share’s navy-and-gold facade catching the eye just up the road.
Pop in there before 6pm for the wh**ky tasting The Angel's Share is known for - but this lunch spot is worth the stop on its own.

Come taste the North West Tasmania 🌊🐙

Some of Tasmania’s best seafood is found right here - and there’s no better way to experience it than in person.

Watch the boats come in, then feast on fresh octopus from T.O.P. Fish TAS , sweet cray fish from Hursey Seafoods , and plump Tarkine Fresh Oysters, shucked and served just minutes from where they were harvested, abalone from Three Friends Abalone Tasmania
This is coastal Tasmania at its finest - pack the cooler, plan the trip, and taste it for yourself.

A little something from the Smithton Visitor Information Centre. We wanted to share a new initiative from Circular Head Council - the Circular Head Dark Sky Journey.

The initiative aims to celebrate and protect one of our region’s greatest natural assets, our incredible night skies, while creating new opportunities for visitors to experience Circular Head after dark.

With our remote location, low levels of light pollution and spectacular landscapes, Circular Head is already a fantastic place for stargazing. The Dark Sky Journey is about exploring how we can build on this and showcase our night skies as part of the visitor experience.

We are at the very beginning of our journey and would like to start sharing information and getting the community more involved in conversations!

It’s an exciting opportunity for our local tourism industry, and we’ll keep you updated as the initiative develops.

You can read more about the initiative here:

There’s something pretty special about seeing our people, places and stories reflected through art.

The CHArtchibald Portraiture Prize and CHArts Exhibition is a celebration of creativity with a distinctly Circular Head flavour.

Our own take on the famous Archibald Prize, the CHArtchibald invites artists to capture a past or present person from the Circular Head region - sharing the faces, personalities and stories that help make our community what it is.

Alongside the portraits, the CHArts exhibition brings together art, photography, sculpture and youth works from creatives across Tasmania. It’s a wonderful chance to wander the gallery, discover something unexpected, spot familiar faces and celebrate the talent and imagination within our community.
