Shepparton Theatre Arts Group Inc. STAG Inc - Creating a Connected Community through Performing Arts Enthusiastic interest from our junior members continues.

STAG’s productions have brought many hundreds of people together to rehearse, design and build sets, choreograph, orchestrate, and perform to audiences that must by now, number in the tens of thousands. Many talented people have passed through STAG, some to continue professionally in the entertainment industry beyond the Goulburn Valley. Our company is fortunate to have among its members a wealth of talent and experience, not only in the "on stage" areas of song, dance and acting, but also in the unseen areas of stagecraft. Lighting design, set design, makeup and wardrobe are all areas where our company exhibits substantial skills which only improve the final result for our audience. One of the company’s major strengths is the broad range of membership it attracts, and in particular the participation by many family groups in our productions. A browse through our list of members indicates just how many families have become involved in the company. These young performers are to be supported, for they represent the future of STAG. As we continue forward in the new millennium, the challenge for Shepparton Theatre Arts Group is to continue to entertain our audiences with quality amateur theatre, while providing our members with a sense of achievement and fellowship.

🎭✨ THE 2026 GEORGY AWARD NOMINATIONS ARE IN! ✨🎭

We are incredibly proud to announce that STAG has received 38 Georgy Award nominations across Cosi, Seventeen, Beauty and the Beast and Disco Inferno! 🏆

A huge congratulations to all of our STAG nominees who have been recognised across performance, direction, vocal direction, choreography, set design, wardrobe, lighting, artistic design and ensemble.

We are so proud of everyone involved in these productions. Every nomination represents the time, talent, creativity and commitment that goes into bringing a show to the stage — both in front of the audience and behind the scenes. ❤️

And congratulations to all the other theatre groups and companies and their nominees from the 2026 season. It’s fantastic to see so much local talent recognised and celebrated across our region. 🎭

We look forward to celebrating with everyone at the 53rd Annual Georgy Awards in November! 🏆✨

🧜‍♀️ If ever there was a theatre show you should get along to, it’s this one! 🌊

Our friends at Creating Drama are getting ready to take you under the sea with Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. at Riverlinks Westside this October.

This is one of those shows you can walk into expecting a fun night at the theatre and walk out with a massive smiling heart that stays with you for a long time. ❤️

The cast have been working hard and having an absolute ball along the way, and from what we’ve seen, there’s plenty of colour, music, laughs, big characters and a whole lot of heart coming together.

Creating Drama’s talented ensemble of adult performers with disabilities are bringing this much-loved story to life, celebrating creativity, confidence, community and the joy of performing.

So don’t just wish you were part of their world… get along and be part of it! 🐠🦀🧜‍♀️

🏆 WE’RE A FINALIST! 🏆

We’re excited to announce that Shepparton Theatre Arts Group Inc. (STAG) has been named a finalist in the 2026 Shepparton Business Excellence Awards for Best Marketing / Advertising Campaign of the Year for our 2025 production of Chicago! 🎭

This recognition is a credit to the whole Chicago team and everyone who helped get the show out there — from newspaper, television and radio coverage, to advertising, photography, reels, social media and good old-fashioned word of mouth.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, media partners and supporters, and to the wider community who not only supported Chicago, but continue to support STAG as a whole by coming to our shows, sharing our posts, recommending us to others and helping us keep community theatre thriving in the Goulburn Valley.

Every bit of support makes a difference. ❤️

Congratulations to everyone involved in Chicago and thank you for helping us get this nomination!

The winners will be announced in October. 🤞🎭
