Yesterday marked an incredible day of community spirit, generosity, and a whole lot of fun as our bowling community came together to host a fundraiser in support of the 12th Melbourne Firefighters Stair Climb. In just one afternoon, we proudly raised $2,002 to support three incredible charities: Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, Ooo Foundation, and Lifeline.
The event was inspired and initiated by Simon Morgan, who will be taking on the physical and mental challenge of the stair climb in just a couple of weeks. His commitment sparked a wave of support across our community, culminating in this heartwarming and impactful event.
A huge shoutout goes to the brave and selfless individuals who added an extra layer of meaning to the day by shaving their heads or beards in support of the cause. Well done to Hannah, Jason, Hayden, and Simon—your courage and compassion are truly inspiring.
It was my absolute honour to host this event and witness the generosity and warmth that define our bowling family. Your willingness to dig deep and contribute made this fundraiser an overwhelming success.
Special thanks must also go to the hardworking helpers behind the scenes—Sammy, Lea-Anne, Suzi, Peter, Jody, and Jason—whose efforts made everything run smoothly.
This event showcased our bowling community shining at its brightest, coming together not just for a game, but for a purpose. Thank you all for making a difference!
Here are some photos of the day and Simon also dyed his beard since we raised over $1500 at the event.
