29 Scenes founders Fleur Murphy and Tom Royce-Hampton were recently in beautiful Portarlington for the National Celtic Folk Festival, collaborating with director, Stephen Kelly from c21Theatre Company (Belfast) on a brand new play, Never Always Ever Was. 🎭🌊

Commissioned by and written by Fleur, the work is currently in development and supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture grant. An excerpt of the piece was brought to life by actors Tom Royce-Hampton and Amanda LaBonte in a special reading — a powerful moment of storytelling during an incredible weekend of cross-cultural connection and creative exchange.

🎭Well, that’s a wrap on THE FENCE for 2024. Thank you to the for hosting our final show of the tour season, and to the wonderful staff and tech crew for their support.

❤️Huge thanks to all of our wonderful audiences that attended shows at The Round, Kingston Arts Centre, Westside Theatre and Clocktower Centre. Thank you for supporting indi theatre, new writing and important stories.

Our little-big show is all packed away for now. We’re hoping we can hit the road again next year, so watch this space. 👀
