Urn for human or pet ashes. Estimated to suit pre-cremation weight of up to 6kg 13 pounds.

Wheel turned jet black stoneware.

Signature freckle finish. The glaze is applied pure white over jet black clay. As the piece heats in the kiln the organic matter in the clay burns away and gasses escape the black clay. As the gasses leave the pot, through the white glaze, they deposit freckles on the surface of the glaze. Naturally the freckles vary in density as the thickness of the glaze differs. Urn for human or pet ashes.

Cremation Urn. Handmade ceramic urn by Marianne Annereau, Australia. Estimated to for pre-cremation weight of 86kg or 188lbs pounds. Iron rich stoneware. Fired to 1280 Celcius. Vitrified. Mottled blue glaze. Gold plated with 24K real gold. The gold lustre is applied before the third and final firing. This urn spent a total of 100 hours in the kiln.

In Ancient Egypt 'the guts' were considered to be the epicenter of emotions and necessary for the afterlife. The guts of Pharaohs were removed from their bodies and placed in canopic jars.
