Exhibition of the Waste2Art competition entries is on display now at the Sheffield Art Centre - until 19th September.
The competition is sponsored by Dulverton Waste Management and hosted by the Working Art Space Sheffield with 4 prizes of $500 to be awarded, based on peoples choice. VOTE FOR YOUR FAVOURITE.
A wide range of "waste" materials have been used - from textiles, b**r cans, paper, mattress innards, pens, ducting, bottle tops, paintbrushes, broken window frame, cardboard packaging, soft and hard plastics, pokemon cards, metal parts, and more ... So, come and get some ideas for what else you can do with "rubbish"!

Feel like a relaxing 4 days stitching? This workshop/retreat is for you. Held in Sheffield, Tasmania from 2-5th October this will be a lot of fun. The tutor Helen Campbell has been teaching Sue Spargo's projects since 2011 , is a very experienced teacher, and has recently completed Sue Spargo's Masterclass in Stitchology. 2nd - 5th October 2026 Spring Stitching Retreat
This event is designed for embroiderers, textile artists and quilters who want several days of focussed learning in a relaxed social setting. Helen Campbell from Adelaide is the tutor for this event. The main focus is wool applique and embellishment with instruction in * Wool applique techniques
* Hand embroidery stitches, * Decorative threads, braids and beads. * Creating texture and dimension in textile projects and quilts.
