The 1770 Festival is an annual commemorative event held in 1770 Welcome to the 1770 Festival!

Join us from the third friday in May for this annual commemorative event set in the picturesque town of 1770, Queensland. Immerse yourself in the rich cultural experience with a traditional Welcome To Country and insightful presentations by the Gooreng Gooreng community. Don't miss the iconic street parade that graces the heart of this historical celebration. Indulge in the vibrant atmosphere with

live entertainment featuring a fusion of arts and music, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Gooreng Gooreng Country in the Southern Great Barrier Reef region of Queensland. The 1770 Festival is made possible by the generous support of the Gladstone Regional Council, Tourism and Events Queensland, and more than 20 dedicated local community sponsors. Thanks to this support, we're thrilled to offer FREE ENTRY to this unforgettable event. Come join us in celebrating history, culture, and community at the 1770 Festival!

🤎✨ Seriously beautiful ceramics, made right here in Agnes Water. ✨🤎

We love being able to fill the 1770 Festival with talented local makers, and Lid Ceramics is another wonderful example of the creativity we have right here in our community.

Beautiful, handmade pieces, each with their own character, and the kind of stall you can't help but stop and admire as you wander through the festival.

🧸💛 Hydration for the grown-ups, teddy hunting for the kids… although we hear a few adults got pretty invested too! 👀

A huge thank you to Agnes Water Doctors for being part of the 1770 Festival 2026, keeping festival-goers topped up with electrolytes and bringing a little extra fun to the grounds with their Teddy Bear Hunt.

Teddies were hiding high and low around the festival, sending young explorers off with their treasure maps to track them down — and we definitely spotted a few grown-ups keeping an eye out along the way!

Thank you to the Agnes Water Doctors team for looking after our community and creating such a fun activity for families. 🧸✨

🔥🎶 Fireworks are a pretty tough act to follow… but Salty Season absolutely held their own! 🎶🔥

Taking over the main stage after the sky lit up, our 2026 headliners kept the Saturday night energy going with a huge set and plenty of reasons to stay on the dance floor.

A massive thank you to Salty Season for bringing the party to the 1770 Festival and giving us a Saturday night to remember. 💛

We couldn’t be prouder of Wave Raiders!💙

These talented young guys first took to the 1770 Festival stage at just 13 years of age, and they’ve been part of our festival for the past three years. Now they’ve taken an incredible next step - blind auditioning on The Voice Australia! 🎤🔥

We’ve loved watching these boys grow as musicians and performers, and seeing them take to a national stage is pretty special.

A huge thank you to The Juice Box 1770 for keeping festival-goers refreshed throughout the 1770 Festival 2026.

Serving up delicious drinks with a smile, they were a favourite stop for anyone needing a cool pick-me-up between music, workshops, and all the festival fun.

🏖️✨ Stories of Salt & Sand ✨🏖️

Our 2026 festival theme, Stories of Salt & Sand, came to life in so many creative ways, and the beautiful sand art activities with BUSHkids were a perfect example.

As children created their own masterpieces using the colours and textures of sand, they were also creating memories—sharing stories, exploring their creativity, and connecting with one another through play.

A huge thank you to the BUSHkids team for bringing such a thoughtful and engaging activity to the 1770 Festival. 💛
