The address is 7 Newborough Street, Scarborough and you can roll on through at 3 to make sure you don’t miss anything. Please walk up the left driveway (East side) and you won’t miss it.

Just when you thought we couldn’t possibly have any more art for Sunday, we are happy to announce that some beautiful drawings by Stefanie Whiting ( ) will be on display/ available !!

With the weekend over and the stark reality of the week upon us, there's no better time to get excited about the upcoming Tunes and Textures this Sunday.

We are fortunate enough to have .rose joining us for the afternoon with a few pieces from her 2021 collection 'underneath'.

"These works draw their inspiration from the earth and the textures of life and reality ~ the beauty that is us and everywhere.

The work is deep, its rich and raw, inviting its viewer into their own enquiry about the rich and deep spaces that are within us all.

These works are all about love."

Our Story

Local Yard Sessions is a non-profit platform showcasing art of all forms.

This is inspired by the local music and arts culture from a city in Malawi in East Africa, where people come together at any opportunity to celebrate local live music and art. They people gather to enjoy art in each others backyards in a communal and intimate atmosphere. Being able to experience such events that were so diverse and rich with texture, yet simple, was enough to get me wondering why it doesn’t happen more in Perth.

So in an age where many don’t take the time to stop and absorb the arts, with few affordable local events on, Local Yard Sessions hopes to support our local artists and provide an opportunity to bring people together to enjoy this local art.

The first set of events, “Tunes and Textures”, will be a regular occurrence over the coming months showcasing live music, poetry, paintings, drawings, jewellery, ceramics and more. A great chance to take a step out of our busy lives and appreciate some art produced from those in our own community. Tunes and Textures will be BYO food and drink with affordable ticket prices. Come and share, celebrate, respect and create.
