What a wonderful week we had in Lens, Switzerland. Celebrating and sharing the stories of our Aunty and Grandmother, Emily Kam Kngwarray.

We send a huge thank you to Berengere Primat for making this trip happen, and to all the team at Fondation Opale. Another big thank you to Creative Australia for providing funding to allow us to travel in comfort. And a thank you to Purple House, for the amazing support, keeping us all healthy. We now have many photos to share, and many stories to tell of this once in a lifetime trip. "We feel happy and proud." - Louisa Kngwarray Long.

We are going to Switzerland, to celebrate the opening of Emily Kam Kngwarray at Fondation Opale.

Thank you Fondation Opale for allowing this trip to happen, thank you Purple House for looking out for our health, and thank you Creative Australia for allowing us to travel in comfort.

We will be back at the Art Centre on the 19th of June.

Anmatyerr woman, Josie Pitjara Kunoth is opening her debut solo show tonight at Gallerysmith, Prahran.

Josie shares story of Atnwelarr, growing at Urlerrperl rock hole. "We call them Atnwelarr. That yam. Water makes it grow up."

Gallerysmith has been recognised name in the visual arts for 15 years. Since 2008, the gallery has developed a strong reputation for showcasing artists with international reputations and important mid-career artists while also successfully shaping the careers of younger practitioners.

Dinny Kemarr Kunoth is currently exhibiting in the group exhibition Game On, at the Jam Factory, Adelaide.

Coinciding with AFL Gather Round 2026, Game On celebrates the passion, energy, and culture of Australian Rules Football in all its colourful glory! This dynamic exhibition brings together First Nations artists from across the country to explore the essence of the great Aussie game.

It's Anaty (Bush Potato) season in Utopia. Finding abundance of bush foods after the big rain.

Last year we opened the doors to our newly upgraded facility. We have had an amazing start to 2026, with many artists utilising the new space. Painting, carving, sculpting and enjoying endless cups of tea. The new building features art screens by the late Kumanjayi Paddy, Traditional Owner of Arlparra Country.

Our doors are now open to the public Tuesday - Thursday 9am - 3pm. Please contact Utopia Art Centre at [email protected] prior to departure and to organise any group visits.
