Part warehouse, part production facility, part gathering place, all community - all in service of a fairer, more local food system.

We get asked "what actually IS this place?" a lot, and figured it'd been too long since we laid it out!

Short version: we're Magandjin/Brisbane's first community-owned food hub. That means commercial space for food entrepreneurs, desks for changemakers doing the thinking, an event space where we open the doors and bring everyone together around food - all connected to an incredible network of knowledge, experience and heart.

We're owned by 500+ everyday Careholders, not shareholders chasing a profit. Built so good food - and the people making it - can get a fair go.

Raise a glass with us tomorrow! 🍻 Friday marks 8 years since Food Connect Foundation took a gigantic leap and officially launched the 'Buy the Shed' campaign - asking our community (and beyond) to see the vision, be part of the journey and invest $2 million in a community owned food hub 🍎

Join us for a bev at Blind Boy Brewing's onsite taproom tomorrow to celebrate (open 2-7pm). We technically wouldn't know we'd pulled it off until November, but we're all about celebrating bold moves and big ideas here so couldn't let the August milestone go unmarked.

Whether you're a Careholder, a longtime Shed-goer or new to the whole crazy thing, you're a big part of it (and we can't wait for you to be a bigger part of our exciting next chapters 👀 )

No more gatekeeping ❌ The best food truck you haven't heard of is based here at the Shed - and you can get your hands on the goods over the next two Saturdays!

Little Foxy is an initiative of tenant Green Fox Studio, providing youth training and employment opportunities. With guidance (and menu design) from Kara from Kuppibunda Kitchen, they sling incredible crowd-pleasers infused with native ingredient twists.

Previously only available at ticketed/private events, they're popping up at the next two 'Saturday Shed Sesh' with a brand new tapas menu you don't want to miss.

Saturday Shed Sesh is presented by Blind Boy Brewing - 2-7pm Saturdays with live music and a rotating food truck (can't promise when Little Foxy will be back after these ones!)

We had a blast hosting The Menoclaws and their delightful crowd for their Christmas in July Cabaret - a true-to-form outrageous night of comedy, music, friends The Dustin Hoffmans, craft markets and more.

If you're looking for an anything-but-dull act to have the boss crying (and other things - pelvic floor pending) with laughter, we reckon they'd be perfect for your next corporate do 😉 Thanks to this event, they've even got the piccies for your Christmas party invite sorted.

Feeling the Sunday slump at the idea of work tomorrow? We're looking for someone ready to shake it up and sink their teeth into the fulfilling role of Venue and Operations Manager at our buzzing, food-systems-driven, community-led food hub.

We need someone with the commercial chops and entrepreneurial mind to grow sustainable revenue and build impact across a multifaceted business - for us, that's the commercial kitchens, underutilised warehouse spaces and event hire and more (there's some serious potential to unlock!)
