See Gippsland’s ancient trees through the eyes of their artists 🎨

Big, bold, beautiful trees with deep roots and deeper stories - this year’s Nakunbalook Art Show is all about honouring Gippsland’s ancient giants. The ones that have seen it all.

We’re talking bark with battle scars, limbs that cradle wildlife, and roots tangled in cultural history.

📅 Opening night and winners will be announced Friday 25 July, 6pm – 8pm.

What is a Grandfather Tree? ✨🌳

For generations, Gippsland’s oldest trees have stood as silent witnesses to history. They have sheltered birds and possums, seen the movement of First Peoples across Country, and watched as landscapes changed over time.

This year, we invite artists to honour these ancient sentinels in their work. Is there a special tree in your area that has a story to tell? 🍂 Share your thoughts in the comments!
