Participating in dance helps teens develop essential life skills, such as resilience, discipline, and determination. Through perseverance and self-motivation, dancers can be encouraged to solve problems through experimentation. It is important that they learn that if they don’t succeed, they need to try again. Being able to make mistakes, ask for help, accept constructive feedback and make improvements are great skills to have.
Dancing teaches teens self-esteem, self-respect, and self-confidence, which often translates into improvements in other areas of their life, such as academic performance and emotional health.
Constantly learning and memorising new choreography for class will help improve a dancer’s long-term memory, which is an invaluable skill that they can take with them into adulthood.
Our Sub-Senior classes include Ballet, Jazz, Tap & Contemporary for dancers aged 12+ years.
