This is a community page to garner support to upgrade the Skateparks on the Southern Mornington Peninsula, in particular in the Townships of Rye, Rosebud, and Sorrento. Rye Premier Skatepark
Proposing a brand new Skatepark on the Rye Foreshore. As a community, we have a fantastic opportunity to build an iconic, modern designed skatepark laid across the picturesque backdrop of Port Phillip Bay. Th
e Rye Premier concept brings together all the needs of the modern skater, blended into a family-friendly area. The Rye Premier park will be built as iconic park of the Victorian coastline, built to broadly emulate St. Kilda park on the “North Shore” of Port Phillip bay. ‘Rye Premier’ provides an unmatched skate experience for all ages and abilities on the Southern Peninsula, servicing the communities south of Frankston. Photos of the park will grab the attention of the global community, and make for an impressive visual for social media profiles around the world. Sure to become an iconic feature of the town of Rye! Rosebud Skate Plaza (Expansion as part of the new foreshore planning)
A gorgeous extension of the existing Rosebud Skate Plaza. A street-inspired Skate Plaza, blending deep red concrete with well-manicured landscaping, bushes shrubs, benches and gardens. An inviting area for all to picnic and visit. The Rosebud Skate Plaza services all campground visitors, local teenagers, and kids. Here we propose a ‘street'-inspired park design. Sorrento Progression Bowl - Bowl expansion to the existing park
This proposal is to expand on the existing skatepark in Sorrento, adding a shallow bowl to the skate area. A compact progression bowl to accompany the existing street run. Geared toward the young skaters looking to be introduced to the sports of skateboarding. A sleek design, with a shallow end, 2-4 foot walls. Servicing the local primary schools, community centre, and community visitors. Fun for everyone, and will still keep the most advanced skaters, eager to drop by for a skate. As part of this proposal, we will also encourage that proper skateboard programming and lesson opportunities will be available at the parks.
