❄️☃️ 5 Little Snowmen ☃️❄️

To mum and dad, it may look like a cute dance. But to our preschoolers… so much learning is happening!

As they dance along to this music, our little dancers are:
🌨️ Practicing counting and number recognition
🌨️ Developing listening and memory skills
🌨️ Building coordination and body awareness
🌨️ Using imagination and creativity
🌨️ Following instructions and sequences

Through music, movement, and storytelling, children learn best when they’re actively engaged and having fun, and sometimes learning happens through dancing snowmen and lots of giggles! ☃️❄️💙

What an incredible opportunity for our students! ⭐️

Yesterday, our dancers had the chance to learn from the amazing from , and what a fantastic experience it was. 🕺

Beyond learning new choreography, our students were challenged to step outside their comfort zones, embrace corrections, try new approaches, and gain insight from someone working within the industry. Opportunities like these help our dancers grow not only in their technique, but also in their confidence, resilience, and love for dance. ✨

A huge thank you to Emily for sharing her knowledge, passion, and energy with our students.
We can’t wait to see them continue applying everything they learned in the studio! 💜

For toddlers, play isn’t “just play”… it’s how they learn 🌈✨

Every game, song, obstacle course, and imaginative moment is helping little minds and bodies grow in ways you may not even realise.

Through play, toddlers are developing:
🧠 Cognitive skills
🤝 Social confidence
💪 Fine & gross motor skills
🎨 Creativity & imagination
💬 Communication & language
💛 Emotional regulation

When children are engaged, moving, exploring, and having fun, they learn naturally! 💜

Comparison in dance is something almost every dancer and parent experiences… especially in the age of social media, and honestly it’s such a complicated topic! 🤯

Because online, all we see is the highlights:

The tricks.
The flexibility.
The trophies.
The polished routines.
The “perfect” moments.

But we rarely see the years of foundations behind them.
We don’t see the tears, corrections, setbacks, injuries, frustration, or the amount of work it took to get there!
And as coaches, this is where comparison can become dangerous.
Because often, dancers or parents see a skill online and immediately think:

“Why can’t I do that?”
“Why aren’t we learning this yet?”
“My child should have this skill.”

But what social media doesn’t show is whether that dancer has the strength, control, body awareness, technique, alignment, or foundations required for that skill safely.

A coach saying “not yet” is not saying:
“You’ll never get there.”

It means:
“We’re building you properly first.”

Because good coaching isn’t about rushing children to the end result.
It’s about creating strong, safe, confident dancers for the long term.

And maybe we need to start reframing comparison completely.

Instead of:
“They’re better than me.”
Try:
“What can I learn from them?”

Instead of:
“My child is behind.”
Try:
“My child is on their own journey.”

Because another dancer succeeding does not take away your ability to grow.

Your journey was never supposed to look exactly like somebody else’s 💜
