Today The Bay Island Singers bade farewell to our highly esteemed member, Judith Pollard. A gracious lady with many stories of her amazingly productive life, Judith will be moving to a nearby mainland suburb. Her many friends and family members will continue to enjoy her stimulating company with visits and outings. In the comparatively short time Judith has been on the island, she has made so many friends and taken part in so many community events and social activities. Sharp as a kitten's tooth and with a memory like a steel trap, Judith embodies "Life is meant for living!" We wish you all the best in your new situation, Judith. We know you'll have great care and lots of opportunities to meet new people. You will be missed.❤

Canaipa Amateur Theatrical Society's "The Lady Pirates of Captain Bree". How amazing and brave are these younger members of the cast? And what of their sparkling futures if they pursue their interest in theatre? Absolutely stellar performances! Stage presence, voice projection, character portrayal and comic timing all spot on. Huge cheers to you all.

"Pirates" will be performed on Friday 24 July (6 pm), Saturday 25 July (6 pm) and Sunday 26 July (2 pm) at Russell Island Recreation Hall, near the jetty. Canaipa Lions Club will have delicious barbecue meat and salad burgers, and peach crumble with cream available before the show. Drinks and snacks available during interval. Please support these events to give opportunities for our island talent to shine.
