Movement Matters Dance & Movement Therapy MOVEMENT MATTERS DANCE AND MOVEMENT THERAPY (MMDMT) will open in Rockhampton in January, 2017.

MMDMT is a dance and Autism Movement Therapy centre established for children and adults with a range of disabilities. Our goal is to provide a dance, movement and music program to individuals with autism and disabilities, so that they can be included in their community and have access to the arts. In conjunction with compatible therapies, such as speech and language and occupational therapy, our p

rograms and classes can assist with sensory integration, behavioural challenges and provide a natural setting for social skills and increased interaction with peers.The Autism Movement Therapy program is designed for, and will benefit anyone on the autistic spectrum or with a developmental delay. The centre will also run adaptive dance classes for children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities.Owner, Miss Karlie, has trained both here in Australia and internationally and has over 25 years experience working with both neurotypical and special needs children and adults. A qualified dance educator, Karlie is one of only two accredited Autism Movement Therapy practitioners in Australia. . Karlie also facilitates an adaptive movement program for Alzheimer / dementia clients, in residential care.
