Allow me to reintroduce myself.

I'm Katie, owner of The Social Canvas here in Rockhampton!

A lot of you have followed me since the Rosé Soirée days but now that chapter has closed. I made the call to sell that side of the business and put everything I've got into this studio, this community, this one place.

While I'm here, a proper reintroduction deserves a few fun facts:
👦 Boy mum through and through
☕ Coffee gets me out of bed
🍷 Rosé gets me through the evening
📣 Self appointed hype girl for literally everyone
🎨 Small business owner who cares more about community than numbers
📺 Guilty pleasure is reality TV, the trashier the better

The Social Canvas is what happens when I stop spreading myself across two cities and focus on doing one thing really well. Same energy, same reason I got into this: a night out that leaves you with more than just a nice photo. Just a sharper focus now, and a name that's fully, finally mine.

So... why the rebrand?

Some of you know may know me, but for those that don’t I’m Katie, the creative director who started Rosé Soirée five years ago in Brisbane.

In December 2024, six months pregnant, I made the very rational (slightly unhinged) decision to open a Rockhampton studio under a brand I’d spent five years building in Brisbane. Rockhampton is home, where I grew up, where my family still is. With my first son on the way, it made sense to be back more often.

Fast forward to April 2025. My son arrived, and so did full-blown tunnel vision for motherhood. The business kept ticking along, stable, but growth wasn’t my focus, I was busy falling in love with every second of being a mum.

Somewhere in there, maybe even before he was born, I knew. My heart wasn’t in running a huge company any more. I no longer wanted multiple leases, managing teams of ten-plus, juggling locations. So I made the call to sell.

After a long stretch of back and forth with lots of discussions and details, it finally happened.

Rosé Soirée settled yesterday. The brand continues on in Brisbane in great hands, and I now have something I haven’t had in a while: a blank page. A chance to rebrand, relaunch, and fall back in love with Rockhampton on my own terms.

So WELCOME. Thanks for being here.

A love letter to everyone who’s painted with us so far 🎨

Before we show you what’s next, we want to take a moment to look back.

From our very first paint pour to every laugh, splash of colour, masterpiece (and questionable masterpiece 😂), you have been the heart of Rosè Soirèe.

You’ve celebrated birthdays, hens parties, date nights, team events, milestones, and moments just because. You’ve walked through our doors, picked up a paintbrush, stepped outside your comfort zone and reminded us why we started this journey.

Every canvas tells a story. Every session has been filled with memories we’ll never forget.

Thank you for trusting us with your celebrations, your creativity, and your time. Thank you for showing up, getting messy, laughing loudly and making Rose Soiree what it is today.

This chapter has been filled with so many incredible moments, and we’re so grateful for every single one of them.

Now… it’s time to share what’s next. ✨

Rockhampton Friends / Creative Business Owners 👀

I’m currently exploring interest in someone potentially taking over my Denham Street studio space, along with the option to purchase the existing equipment and current stock.

As many of you know, I’ve recently sold the Brisbane side of the business, along with the Rosé Soirée brand, which means I’m now at a crossroads with the Rockhampton space.

At this stage, my options are to either:
✨ rebrand and relaunch in a new direction
or
✨ pass the space and setup on to someone new who could bring their own vision to life there

This could be a great opportunity for someone looking for a creative studio, workshop, event, or small business space with an existing setup ready to build from.
