Dance for Brain Health classes are designed for people living with Parkinsonโ€™s disease or experiencing movement and mobility challenges, regardless of stage. Family members, carers, friends and health professionals are all welcome. The program is also open to anyone in the community looking to support and enhance their brain health.

Today Rockhampton Museum of Art observes Mabo Day, 34 years since the Mabo decision, a landmark court case led by Eddie Koiki Mabo (1936-1992) that led to the Native Title Act.

In 2022 RMOA presented ๐˜Š๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ญ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต๐˜ช๐˜ฐ๐˜ฏ ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ค๐˜ถ๐˜ด: ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜Š๐˜ฐ๐˜ญ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜Š๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ณ๐˜บ, a selection of works by First Nations artists from the RMOA Collection. In their vibrancy and movement, the works represent the inspirations behind the movements and milestones across Australian political and legal history for land rights, namely the Gurindiji Strike and the Wik and Mabo decisions.

Caitlin Hespeโ€™s work explores intimacy as something accumulated in fragments, repetitions, and layered marks and gestures. Working primarily with coloured pencil, gouache, and fresco-like plaster surfaces, the artist is drawn to processes that require slowness and trust: building, erasing, redrawing, responding. Yet there always remains the 'immediacy' of the mark - fast and slow. These drawings begin with a line and build through repetition, shifts in direction, and patterns; circles, curves, ornamental motifs, street imagery, leadlight windows seen in perspective. Some forms emerge from memory, others from observation. All are filtered through a desire to refine, to re-see.

Jenny Watson is one of Australiaโ€™s most significant contemporary artists whose conceptual painting practice spans more than four decades. In 2022, Watson was in the group exhibition Embodied Knowledge: Queensland Contemporary Art at Queensland Art Gallery with a group of 48 new paintings on proofs of the exhibition catalogue from her 2016 survey exhibition Chronicles at Griffith University Art Gallery, Brisbane.

Telly Tuโ€™u is a Sydney-based artist, born in Wellington New Zealand. Culture is a seminal part of the artistโ€™s practice, drawn from his Samoan, Chinese, Tokelau and Tuvalu heritage. His atmospheric abstract works call upon references including the Samoan Peโ€™a (tattoo) or Tapa cloth, which comprise patterns abstracted from nature.

Lorna Quinn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honours at Victorian College of the Arts in 2018. Early successes in her career have included receiving awards, completing large-scale public artwork and exhibiting in a number of group exhibitions and art prizes. She is the recipient of an Ian Potter Travel Grant (2024), a Brett Whiteley Travelling Scholarship, and the Marten Bequest Travelling scholarship (2024).
