Ballet Conservatoire The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet (originally Christine Walsh Dance Centre) was founded in 1991 by Co-founders Christine Walsh AM and Ricardo Ella.

Established by Christine Walsh AM and Ricardo Ella, Ballet Conservatoire is renowned for its strong professional ballet training, preparing dancers for ballet and dance companies worldwide. The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet has a renowned reputation for its strong classical ballet training in preparation for a professional career in dance. The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet is both a classical ballet school and training program. The creation of Ballet Conservatoire Teacher Training and Assessment Program syllabus, Certificate III and IV in Dance and the full-time Diploma of Dance has enabled students to reach exemplary standards. All programs are based on the Vaganova method. Over 400 teachers now teach the ACB Training program in schools across Australia, United Kingdom, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, India, Hong Kong, Macau and the Philippines. The training at The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet has enabled many graduates to enter dance companies such as: The Royal Ballet, Houston Ballet, Dutch National Ballet, Australian Ballet and many other European companies.

Christine and I extend our heartfelt tribute to a truly special person, Cecile “Ces” Bartolome.

We are profoundly saddened by her passing, and our prayers and condolences are with her family during this difficult time.

Ces dedicated over fifteen years to creating beautiful costumes for our ballet productions, as well as numerous other dance organizations in the Philippines and Australia.

She will be deeply missed, and our hearts carry her memory with so much love.

Rest peacefully, Ces. You will be cherished and remembered forever.

We are thrilled and honoured to welcome a new team member to our organisation - Ballet Conservatoire alumnus Benjamin Ella, who will assume the role of Development Manager.

Benjamin is a former Soloist of The Royal Ballet with over sixteen years of professional experience in performing, teaching, coaching, and mentoring within the international ballet community.

He graduated from The Royal Ballet School with a Diploma of Dance (Honours), jointly awarded as the Most Outstanding Male Graduate. His extensive performance career has taken him across Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America, collaborating with many leading dancers, choreographers, and arts organisations.

Benjamin plans to grow the organization by forging strategic initiatives, forming partnerships, offering scholarships, and securing sponsorships. He will play an integral role in the inaugural Ballet Conservatoire Prix, planned for December 2027, along with other programs that offer meaningful opportunities for dancers, teachers, and schools worldwide.

Many thanks to the Ballet Conservatoire Taiwan team led by Ms. I-Shiang Liu and Ms. Ting-Ting Huang for their warm hospitality hosting the Ballet Conservatoire’s successful six-day exam session, examined by BC author Ms. Christine Walsh AM, ACBE.
