Seventh Gallery Seventh is an artist-run, non-profit gallery based in Yálla-birr-ang / Collingwood, Melbourne.

Operating since 2000, we present a year-round program, working at the intersection of contemporary art, politics, and philosophy.

Our annual fundraiser closes this Sunday at midnight. There are still a few incredible artworks available, so don't pass up your chance to take one of them home and support our community! Head to the link in our bio to browse the remaining collection.

We want to keep making space for education, solidarity, fun, and art - but we can’t do it without you! That's why we are so grateful to all the artists who donated their work this year, and to everyone who has supported us by buying art, sharing our posts, donating, or coming to our events. Thank you! Every single bit of support goes directly toward keeping our doors open and our programs running ☺️

Group Crits at Seventh for working-class and under-class artists.

Are you a working or under-class artist who is looking to develop or gain more support for your art practice? Seventh is opening applications for a new program of group crits, running from November 2026, offering ten artists a structured space to share work in progress, get feedback from peers and two experienced facilitators, and build a working relationship with a small cohort over several months.

What does a crit involve?

Facilitated by James Hazel and Dario Vacirca, the program runs as a series of eleven two-hour sessions, each session working through two artists' work in depth. Everyone's work is discussed twice across the program, with time between sessions to develop ideas further. Each participant also gets 30 minutes of one-on-one time with the facilitators, and the program closes with a professional photography session to document each artist's work.

We're interested in seeing work at any stage, across any medium or combination of media, and we'd particularly encourage multidisciplinary artists to apply. Documentation of your practice can take whatever form suits it best - video, audio, photography, or something else.

This is a cohort-based program, so being there for your peers' crits is as much a part of it as having your own work discussed, and so the group's consistency is important. This way you’ll be able to get the most out of the program. Participants are expected to attend at least 80% of sessions.

Catering is provided at every session!

This call out is open to anyone, but we're especially keen to hear from working class and underclass artists, and from artists who haven't come through art school. Tell us how that resonates with you if it does.

Applications close 30 October 2026. For more info see the link in our bio.

Canapé reveal for Harana, curated by .biscotti, featuring live sets by .biscotti and and casually luxurious eats by .melbourne and .

Harana, the Filipino word for serenade, is a public love confession in song form, a display of vulnerability before the beloved and the world.

On Friday 2nd of October 2026 from 6pm, Harana at Seventh brings canapés, community and a confessional-contemporary-classical sound to Collingwood in a salu-salo (party). Harana at Seventh is a serenade with a twist, a lullaby for the impending Venus retrograde in Scorpio, glitch-driven party-poem that professes love for cities that don’t always love you back.
