Daydreaming is often considered as an array of thoughts that

often distract an individual from the present. From the perspective of DJ and music producer, Dallas Knight, it is far from a distraction; it's an experience. His method of ascertaining said experiences is brought to life through euphorically-charged electronic music coalescing with a torrent of nostalgia. A music lover at heart, Daydream Deluxe thinks of himself as versatile; a man of many genres that can appease any audience he’s put in front of. But while he’s in the studio, you can find him channelling the likes of Armand Van Helden, Daft Punk and Louis La Roche into his own sonic fingerprint. No matter the crowd, venue or atmosphere, Daydream Deluxe can assure you that you’re in good hands and promises to envelop his surroundings with effervescent, feel-good vibes.

So, I've had my nose to the grindstone for years at making another Daydream Deluxe album. I lost hundreds of files in 2022 that would be put towards what was going to be the next future funk record in my catalogue. That caused a major setback in my creative spark and lost the inspiration to go back to making another FF album.

I still produced within that time frame, but the material I was conjuring up with my intuition in the Vaporwave scene and my contribution to it was scarce. I had countless unfinished project files and thought they didn't feel very honest to me. But over time, I found some of those songs to just click with each other. I had also realised what I was going through at the time with my mental health ended up being transmuted into an array of Future Funk, Vaporwave, and a bit of Lo-Fi Hip-Hop.

Some of these songs I chose to revisit, and some I started from scratch again to recontextualise and reformulate the idea. In the end, I created a narrative that correlated with what I've gone through over the last few years as a person and as a creator. This said narrative is something I think everyone can relate to, and I hope that its concept strikes a chord with you guys.

All of that being said, I am in the home stretch of finishing the next Daydream Deluxe LP entitled "Reflections". A record about reflecting on who you were when you were younger and seeing how much you've improved as a person, overcoming imposter syndrome, finding the little things that make you happy, and being in the presence of good people. All of which helped turn you into the person you are today, or are aspiring to become.

The album will feature guest collaborators and some familiar faces I've had the honour of working with again. There is no release date yet. But I give you my solemn vow, you will get to experience Reflections this year.

TL;DR - New album coming out by the end of the year because I'm a perfectionist and I have imposter syndrome.
