Our new medium domes for this week 🌿🪲

We have 5 new medium domes featuring everything from a Giant Shield Millipede to lantern flies and of course a butterfly

Themed around woodland landscapes, these domes feature gorgeous foliage, natural feathers, crystals and even dried fungus species!

Can you believe this is the same butterfly? 🦋

The front view is the black and green pattern and the back view features the black, white and red. This butterfly is special and known colloquially as an 88, which is the number outline on the bottom wings.

If you would like one of these butterflies (i have 2 of them) set in a small dome for $30 please DM me.

Introducing the Giant Shield Millipede 🐛🌿

This is the first time we’ve had Giant Shield Millipedes in our collection and we’re very excited to show you what we do with them!

Native to Java and Sumatra, this specimen has a dark silver colour, giving the perfect camouflage. Placed in a medium dome among green foliage and howlite crystals, this piece is a beautiful reflection of nature and has become one of our favourites!

In addition to our Millipede dome we also have other new pieces this week featuring butterflies, damselflies and beetles! All our new stock is coming with us to the Redcliffe Markets tomorrow, August 9th, so be sure to come say hi 🐛🌿

We’re so excited that we got a new shipment of Luna Moths this week! 🌷

This specimen has been placed in a large dome amongst gorgeous sunset coloured flowers!

Not only is there pink, yellow and orange foliage, there’s also rose quartz, an agate slice and some sneaky little gold beetles. Can you spot them all? 🪲

This piece along with all our other new pieces will be available this Sunday, August 9th, at the Redcliffe Markets. You can also get in early and order this piece right now! Just send us a DM 🌷

It’s your chance to WIN! 🐊

We have a new addition to The Beetle’s Tale family. It’s an American alligator but we don’t have a name for him/her!

If you would like to be in the running to win a medium dome of your choice (including a custom-made piece if you would like), simply come up with the best name for our alligator!

Kids are welcome to enter and you can enter as many times as you like. Submit your entry by commenting on this post with your name/s suggestion OR, visit us (and our new friend!) in person at the Redcliffe Markets, fill out an entry form and drop it in the box.

We’ll give you a hint too - we love something clever/funny.

This week, we have 3 new frames - 2 small, 1 large 🪶🐌

The first small frame features a Stoplight butterfly, a bumblebee, a bronze key with a seahorse head and a Golden Pheasant feather! Perfect from someone who has earthy tones in their home and would like to add a pop of colour while staying within an earth palette

The second small frame features a Tearful Swallowtail butterfly, a silver fob watch, a Schonherr’s Blue Weevil and a peacock tail feather. The beautiful blue/aqua hues in this piece would look stunning in a home with primarily white decor to add a richness and vibrancy to an otherwise plain wall!

Our large frame this week features a Death’s Head moth, French and Mexican coins, a bronze steampunk key, a tortoise shell, stamps from Brunei and a mink skull. For those who enjoy a touch a drama on their walls and love a talking point, this piece is perfect

Here’s a sneak peek of what we will be bringing to the Redcliffe Markets this Sunday, 2 August! 🌸🪲

We’ve been making lots of Bumble Bee domes (by popular request!), plus some new and interesting beetle domes.

After a very quiet spell in terms of sourcing Christmas beetles, we finally have some and have included a couple of them in our small domes for you! We have also come across the most gorgeous electric blue beetles and two of our small domes feature them set alongside weevils.

All these domes are available to purchase now via DM and will otherwise be at the Redcliffe Markets with us!

P. S. Keep an eye out for 3 interesting announcements in the coming week. We have some surprising critters on the way, one of which is going to feature in a competition we’ll be running! We are also going to provide a new and helpful service to our customers so look out for that in the coming days 🪲🌸

We’ve been working on expanding our small frame range this week 🐌🍂

This frame features a Papilio dardanus, commonly known as the Flying Handkerchief! Native to sub-Saharan Africa, this species is a cousin to Papilio Ulysses.

In beautiful neutral colours this frame includes a real daisy, two vintage stamps, a piece of lime jade, bordered by our signature dotting style

This frame and all our other pieces will be available tomorrow, Sunday the 26th, at the Redcliffe Markets! Come say hi and check out our new stock 🐌
