This term we've a new theme -
Marvels and Miracles, (because when you stop and explore you're likely to see many marvellous and miraculous wonders in our world). 🌏
Romans 1:20

Week 1 we started with a little bit of science:-
milk + food colouring + dish drops = magic milk.
Such fun to see the reactions from children and adults alike .

Children of the world finished off our term 3 theme of "International." We saw many flags of the world, explored maps and a globe of planet earth. 🌎
At story time we heard about all the types of houses people from around the world call home, then little ones got creative colouring their own planet earth with children of the world circling the globe.

Today our country of focus for week 9 of term 3 was Canada...cutting and gluing red paper to create the Canadian flag, reading an acrostic poem that gave insights into life in the arctic and molding air dry clay to create our own Inuksuk.

Royalty came calling to Redcliffe Playgroup last week. Marmalade scones (and sandwiches) were hugely popular at the high-tea, while reports of lots of fun during mat time as the iconic sights of London were seen via our story time popup book. Classic nursery rhymes and songs tied in nicely before heading outside to make our own double decker buses at the craft table.

It's on today - FYI we have almost 40 prizes to be won on our Number Grid Board, (made possible because of the generosity of businesses and individuals in and beyond the Peninsula).
Numbers are still available with the draw
starting around 11:45 am.
Cross My Heart Cafe will be open to ensure the need for coffee/tea etc can be met.
Apart from the above there will be a Bake sale, plants needing a home and a bargain to grab at our "suitcase rummage."
Oh, and of course, the barbie will be fired up, tantalising our senses with the classic sausage sizzle to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

New Zealand, the land of the long white cloud, gave us much fun - with our Maori poi being constructed soon after "reading" the book Kupa Haka (and even having a go at doing the haka ourselves on the day rain kept us inside) this week.
