We will be performing for the 2026 Multicultural Festival on Saturday 20th June at 10.30am at Queanbeyan Park.

For those not aware, the festival was planned for earlier in the year (back in March) but was at the time cancelled (now moved to next Saturday) due to unfortunate weather. We are the first act on stage for the day with a programme we are exited to finally present. Come along to hear us sing!

Note (for our choristers) that there will be no regular choir session later that day on Saturday 20th June.

We will, as we do every year, be singing for the Queanbeyan ANZAC Day service (for 10.30am tomorrow).

This year the march and service will be in a different location due to the road closures. See https://www.qprc.nsw.gov.au/Events/Anzac-Day-2026 for details. We are at Moore Park (next to the Pool/Skate Park. corner of Lowe St and Campbell St), not the old Information Centre/Senior Citizen's Centre like it has been in previous years.

You'll find details of Anzac Day events being held across QPRC including Araluen, Braidwood, Bungendore, Captains Flat, Googong, Jerrabomberra, Majors Creek and Queanbeyan

Christmas is coming, the streets by night shining;
please come along and hear us caroling!

For the last couple of months we have been rehearsing Christmas carols. We have 3 performances coming up over the next couple of weeks:

This Sunday (14th December) at 11.00am we are caroling in Riverside Plaza.

Next Thursday (18th December) at 4.00pm we are singing at Queanbeyan Park for the Queanbeyan Community Christmas Party and Carols.

Next Saturday (20th December) at 11.00am we are singing on the stage for the Crawford St Christmas Party.

We are singing a mix of traditional carols, popular Christmas songs, and songs by Australian composers. Come along and hear us sing — and sing along!

Thank you to all who came to our performances over the last 2 weeks. The multicultural festival, seniors' week, and opening of the new seniors' centre were all a success! Thank you to the Queanbeyan Council, Queanbeyan Library, and Queanbeyan Seniors for hosting us. I have included here photos from the recent performances.

The choir also had an outing to watch the Canberra Philharmonic production of the music "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" (which our accompanist performed in the orchestra for). A very enjoyable show!

With no further performances until July, we will be taking it easy for the next couple of weeks. For our rehearsal this week we will be singing requests from the choir.

4 upcoming events for the choir:

Tomorrow (Sunday 2nd March) we are performing for the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival (Queanbeyan Park). We are singing from 11.00am on Stage 2.

Friday 14th March we are performing a Seniors Week Concert at the Queanbeyan Library. We will be singing for an hour starting at 1.00pm.

Tuesday 18th March we will be performing the National Anthem for the Queanbeyan Seniors.

On Saturday 22nd March we will be holding a General Meeting (as announced through the email list) to elect a treasurer, meeting at 2.15pm before our regular rehearsal.

It's the busiest time of the year for a community choir!

The Queanbeyan Community Choir has the following events lined up this year for Christmas:

Saturday 7th December: We are singing for the Googong community carols at Bunyip Park start at 6.00pm.

Saturday 14th December: We are carolling at Riverside Plaza for an hour, 11.00am-12.00noon. After that, we will have our break-up lunch for the year for choir members.

Thursday 19th December: 2 performances! First we are singing for the Uniting Church Seniors Christmas Party at 12.00noon. Then, in the evening, we are singing for the Queanbeyan Christmas Carols in Queanbeyan Park at 7.00pm.

Yes, Queanbeyan Christmas Carols are on Thursday 19th December, not Saturday 14th. This is now a separate event from the Queanbeyan Community Christmas Party at the showgrounds and will be more focused on the carolling. There will be a number of groups performing for the carols in the park, starting from 6.00pm.

Our spring concert (Songs for Spring) is on this Saturday (21st September).

We are performing Saturday at 2.30pm at the Queanbeyan Axis Youth Centre (near the tennis courts and the Lions bookshop). This is the choir’s first time this year performing outside of our usual yearly calendar of events (Australia Day, Christmas in July, etc.) Come along for music and tea for a gold coin donation (collected for the Queanbeyan St Benedict's Community Centre).

This Saturday (6th July) we will be performing for the Queanbeyan Christmas in July. Our programme includes popular and Australian Christmas & Winter songs. Thank you to Suzanne, who will be conducting (as I will be in Sydney!) We are at 12.15pm at the Queanbeyan Showgrounds. Come along and hear the choir sing!

This Sunday (3rd March), we are performing for the Queanbeyan Multicultural Festival 2024! The festival is at Queanbeyan Park and we are performing at 11.00am on Stage 2 (on the Campbell St side of the park). We have a program that includes Australian, Islander, Neapolitan, and Scottish folk songs, along with an arrangement of the Maranoa Lullaby. The festival last year was a great event, with a wide variety of different acts. Come along for the cultural experience and hopefully to hear us sing!

Welcome to the page for the Queanbeyan Community Choir!

We began meeting in 2020, when lock-down regulations permitted, and were incorporated in 2021. Since then, we have been meeting most weeks. We have performed for numerous Queanbeyan and region events, including Christmas Carols, Christmas in July, the Multicultural Festival, ANZAC Day, Spring Fairs, and Australia Day.

We have just finished up Christmas Carols for the year. With Christmas behind us, the choir will be in recession until late January (date TBC), when we will restart regular sessions for 2024.

For anyone looking to join a community choir, we meet on Saturdays at the Queanbeyan Leagues club. We are open to members at all levels of experience. We focus on a broad repertoire, with simple arrangements of well known songs. Feel free to email ([email protected]) send a FB message if interested.

Merry Christmas to all, and we look forward to another great year of singing of 2024!
