05/09/2023
It is with much sadness that we are unable to host the Quambatook Rodeo in 2023. Unfortunately, we have hit a roadblock. We have been extremely fortunate in being granted use of the Quambatook Tractor Pull Complex, an awesome location to hold the event, however, to use the tractor pull site we need to enlarge the track site to arena size. To do that we needed to locate the same or very close to the same soil used on the existing track. As it’s the Australian Championship track we needed to find “Buloke Loam" or as it is referred to here by farmers Sunday Soil (Too wet to work on Saturday and too dry on Monday). While soil has been located after lots of kilometres and samples taken it has been too wet to be able to retrieve it and have it settle in with the track to make an arena safe for both animals and riders alike.
We have therefore made the very hard and gutt wrenching decision to postpone the Rodeo to 2024. We wouldn’t want to risk anyone, animal or human, being injured due to the arena not having sufficient time to settle.
We hope you will consider joining us for 2024’s Rodeo which will undoubtedly be even bigger and better given we will have another twelve months to ramp things up even further.
